School bullying has caused serious physical and mental harm to students.Nowadays,school bullying incidents have attracted widespread attention.Coping styles are the strategies and approaches adopted by individuals when facing pressure.Perceived social support is a sense of satisfaction that an individual feels understood and supported in society,and it is a stable trait formed by the individual in a stressful situation.Senior high school students are at a special stage of life development,and a civilized and harmonious campus environment is very important for their healthy development.This study aims to understand the situation of school bullying among senior high school students from the perspective of perceived social support and coping styles.And this study studies the relationship and mechanism of these three variables,so as to provide feasible suggestions for schools to reduce school bullying incidents.In this study,568 students from Hantai Middle School in Hanzhong City were surveyed using the Perceived Social Support Scale,Coping Style Scale and School Bullying Scale.And 568 valid questionnaires were collected.The SPSS23.0 statistical software and the PRO CESS plug-in were used to analyze the recovered data and test for mediation effects.The resu lts of the study are as follows:(1)The perceived social support and positive coping styles of senior high school students were generally above the average level;The negative coping styles were at the lower-middle level;School bullying was at a low level.(2)As for perceived social support,there were significant differences in gender,place of origin,left-behind and father’s education level;There were significant differences in gender in both positive and negative coping styles.Significant differences exist in grade levels in negative coping styles.And significant differences exist in positive coping styles among class leaders;Significant differences exist in gender in all dimensions of school bullying.Significant differences exist in verbal bullying among grades.There were significant differences in school bullying total scores and verbal bullying and physical bullying among class leaders.(3)Perceived social support positively predicts positive coping styles.Positive coping styles negatively predict school bullying.Perceived social support negatively predicts school bullying.(4)Positive coping styles play a partially mediating role between perceived social suppo rt and school bullying.Based on the results of the study,the educational countermeasures proposed in this paper are as follows:(1)Improve students’ ability to perceive social support in all aspects;(2)Adjust students’ cognitive concepts and cultivate positive coping styles;(3)Strengthen the three-level linkage among family,school and society to curb school bullying.
