As one of the three elements of language,vocabulary is the building material of language and the basic structural unit of sentence.Without vocabulary,it is impossible to transmit information and carry out language communication activities.Vocabulary is an important criterion to measure the Chinese level of second language learners.Therefore,international Chinese teachers must put vocabulary teaching in a prominent position and use different teaching methods and skills to help learners master and use vocabulary and expand their Chinese vocabulary.In vocabulary learning,primary school students will have a variety of errors,which is a normal phenomenon,and accompanied by the learning process,which also makes international Chinese teachers should pay more attention to the analysis and research of errors,in order to promote teaching.Based on the author’s practice experience in Thailand,this paper studies vocabulary teaching and vocabulary bias from the perspectives of teachers and students with the support of the teaching practice of Fuzhengong School in Thailand.Firstly,this paper systematically analyzes the situation of Thai primary school students’ Chinese vocabulary learning.This paper studies the internal and external factors,including the age,emotional factors,social environment and classroom environment of Chinese learners,and systematically analyzes the infrastructure,teachers,class hours,student characteristics and achievements of Chinese teaching in Fuzhengong School,Thailand,the author’s practice school,in order to better teach and achieve teaching goals.Secondly,the modern Chinese vocabulary is very large and the time for international Chinese classroom teaching is very limited.Therefore,teachers must choose the words they teach.On the basis of analyzing the characteristics of Chinese vocabulary,they should follow the principle of vocabulary selection and make use of their characteristics in international Chinese teaching.Then,based on the actual teaching in Fuzhengong School in Thailand,according to the characteristics of vocabulary and the characteristics of pupils,the author introduces the common methods of vocabulary teaching for pupils in Thailand: direct method,translation method,scene method and common means of vocabulary practice: demonstration method,game method and collocation method,as well as the main principles of vocabulary teaching.The author collects common examples of errors in elementary school students’ vocabulary learning,classifies them according to the parts of speech,points out the types of errors,analyzes the causes of errors,and puts forward specific countermeasures to reduce errors from the perspective of teachers and students.Finally,the author lists two teaching plans of vocabulary teaching in Fuzhengong School in Thailand,and summarizes and reflects on the existing problems and solutions of vocabulary teaching for primary school students in Thailand.The main research methods adopted in this paper are literature research method and case analysis method.The innovation point is to start from the practice of vocabulary classroom teaching of primary school students in Thailand,summarize the vocabulary teaching methods,principles,types and sources of vocabulary learning errors of primary school students in Fuzhengong School,and explore how to improve vocabulary teaching in the classroom of primary school students in Thailand.It is a case study and aims to provide some reference for future teachers to go to Thailand through case analysis.
