Research purpose: The sports training major is one of the core majors of the sports discipline in sports universities.The sports training major of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education is a first-class undergraduate major in sports science in China.According to the "Undergraduate Talent Training Plan for Sports Training Major of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education(2018 Revision)",the sports training major aims to cultivate high-quality,versatile talents that meet the needs of the development of sports in the new era.Educational practice is an important component of the teaching plan of colleges and universities,an important way for schools to achieve talent cultivation goals,and a key step for students to put their theoretical knowledge and professional skills into practice.This paper investigates and analyzes the current situation of undergraduate educational practice in sports training majors in sports colleges and universities,with the aim of summarizing their successful experiences,identifying areas for improvement,and proposing corresponding suggestions to provide a theoretical reference for further promoting the teaching reform of sports training majors in sports colleges and universities.Research methods: Taking Wuhan Institute of Physical Education as an example,this article first uses literature analysis,comparative analysis,expert interviews,and other methods to conduct a longitudinal comparison of the overall arrangement of undergraduate education practice in the sports training major of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education in the past four years,and analyzes the development of the arrangement of education practice in the past four years;Secondly,questionnaires,expert interviews,and mathematical statistics were used to investigate and analyze the educational practice situation of sports training majors in2019.Research results:(1)Wuhan Institute of Physical Education has formed a unique undergraduate education practice model for sports training majors.The overall arrangement of internship work includes four links: internship preparation,internship guidance,internship implementation,and internship evaluation.A longitudinal comparison of undergraduate education internship arrangements for sports training majors at Wuhan Institute of Physical Education in the past four years shows that the main content of the internship program has not changed much,and it is generally relatively mature.In the past four years,we have mainly optimized the content of pre internship training,increased different types of internship bases,and advanced educational internship scheduling.(2)The undergraduate education internship for the sports training major of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education is conducted in the seventh semester,lasting for 12 weeks;Adopting the mode of combining centralized practice with decentralized practice;Internship units are mainly primary and secondary schools(46.4%),followed by universities(22.2%),clubs(11.4%),sports teams(11.2%),and enterprises(6.6%).Internship positions are dominated by physical education teachers(42.6%),followed by specialized coaches(28.2%),physical fitness coaches(21.7%),class teachers(4.4%),and administrative clerks(3.1%).Interns who undertake more than 11 class hours per week account for 32%,4-6 class hours account for 17%,and 1-3 class hours account for 9%.The internship work includes physical education practice teaching(76.7%),special sports training(50.8%),and extracurricular sports competition organization(43.4%);78% of internship bases have equipment and facilities that basically meet internship needs;In terms of internship expenses,36.9% of interns cost 1001-1500 yuan,35.7% 501-1000 yuan,16.3%above 1500 yuan,and 11.1% below 500 yuan.(3)Each instructor guides 6-10 interns,accounting for 56.2%,followed by 1-5 interns,accounting for 35.9%,and more than 10 interns,accounting for 7.9%.Nearly 70% of interns have arranged for interns to participate in demonstration classes and seminars,and 21.7% of tutors guide interns every class.19%instruct interns three or more times a week,and 38% instruct interns 1-2 times a week;The instructor’s guidance for interns includes education and teaching ability guidance(74.81%),student management ability guidance(64%),team training and competition ability guidance(50%),work summary ability(49.2%),sports theoretical knowledge(45.7%),sports specific skills(43%),life adaptation ability(39.1%),and competition organization ability(38.7%).(4)85% of interns are well prepared to change their roles from students to teachers before internship,82% of interns have a good reserve of professional knowledge and skills,and 78%of interns can prepare lessons carefully before class;Interns believe that they mainly have deficiencies in their teaching plan writing ability(45%),atmosphere mobilization ability(39%),and classroom organization ability(35%);Internship has greatly helped interns improve their language expression ability(76%),physical education and training organizational ability(78%),and career planning ability(70%);52.7% of students believe that the current educational internship schedule is reasonable,with sufficient time to make up for deficiencies and clarify the employment direction,while 18.6% of students believe that the schedule is unreasonable,which is not conducive to the convergence of employment after internship.Research conclusion:(1)The educational internship work in sports universities includes four stages: internship preparation,internship guidance,internship implementation,and internship evaluation.A longitudinal comparison of the arrangement of undergraduate educational internships in the sports training major of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education in the past four years shows that the main content of the internship plan has not changed much and is generally more mature.In the past four years,we have mainly optimized educational internships by improving the pre internship training content,adding different types of internship bases,and providing early educational internship time.(2)Currently,the internship at Wuhan Institute of Physical Education is arranged in the sixth semester,with the internship base mainly in primary and secondary schools,with nearly half of the students serving as physical education teachers.Most internship guidance teachers arrange interns to participate in demonstration classes and seminars and provide after-school guidance,including but not limited to educational and teaching abilities,student management abilities,and team training and competition abilities.During the internship,it has a significant impact on the language expression ability,physical education and training organization ability,and career planning of interns.Through internships,students have found that they mainly have shortcomings in lesson plan writing,atmosphere mobilization,and classroom organization.(3)In order to further promote the undergraduate teaching reform of sports training majors in sports universities and improve the quality of talent cultivation,it is necessary to reform and optimize the internship base,venue equipment,management of guidance teachers,number,content,and methods of guidance,workload and funding support of interns,as well as the knowledge and skills of interns themselves,and evaluation methods of internships,in order to form a supervision and incentive mechanism,Continuously improving the overall quality of educational internships.
