The boundaryless and volatile career background and the rising number of graduates make the career development of college students full of challenges,and put forward higher requirements for college students ’ career adaptability,but the career adaptability of college students is not satisfactory.Entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities can not only guide college students to start their own businesses and obtain employment,but also cultivate entrepreneurship,improve college students ’ self-efficacy and desire to explore,and better adapt to changes in the external environment.Therefore,it is urgent to explore how to improve the career adaptability of college students through entrepreneurship education.In the face of complex career environment,it is an important problem to prepare for career in advance.This study selected college students as the research object.Based on the social cognitive career theory and the career construction theory,a mechanism of the mediated utility relationship containing entrepreneurship education,career self-efficacy,career exploration,career adaptability has been creatively constructed here.Adopting the empirical analysis of data from 590 valid survey samples,the predictive effect of entrepreneurship education on career adaptability has been further explored.The results demonstrated that: the independent variable,entrepreneurship education,plays a positive and significant role in predicting the dependent variable,career adaptability;by adopting the career self-efficacy,and career exploration,not only the relationship between entrepreneurship education and career adaptability can be mediated,but also a mediated chain between entrepreneurship education and career adaptability can be established.The innovation of the research is to place self-efficacy(cognition),career exploration(behavior),and entrepreneurship education(learning environment)in a research model based on career-related theories to explore the career adaptability under the combined action of the three.Finally,based on the research results,the practical implications for university education management has been proposed: the depth,temperature and intensity of entrepreneurship education shall be strengthened,individual career self-efficacy shall be accelerated and positive career exploration behaviours shall be cultivated,which will contribute to the enhancement of university students’ career adaptability.Additionally,theoretical supports and practical suggestions for the the cultivation of talents and educational reform in colleges and universities can be provided by adopting the proposal.
