A Study Of Grandparenting Dilemmas In Rural Intergenerational Support With Group Work Intervention

Generation separation parenting is becoming more and more common in rural areas.Previous studies have focused on the healthy growth of children.For the main body of generation separation parenting,the grandparents group,attention is often paid from the perspective of the left-behind elderly,and there is a lack of exploration of this important event.According to the survey of Village A,more than 60% of the elderly are raising their grandchildren(including grandchildren or grandchildren),80% suffer from one or more basic diseases,and each elderly person raises 1.93 children on average.Elderly women are more likely than elderly men to feel tired during nursing.The elderly and infirm are under great pressure to raise their grandchildren,and information isolation,lack of social leisure,differences in parenting concepts,and self-deprecation all form their own difficult dilemma.The problems faced by generational separation in rural areas urgently need the intervention of professional social work.Rural social work must provide targeted services to improve the level of governance and service.On the basis of research,group work on the theme of health-empowerment was carried out to address the dilemma of intergenerational care.Four activities popularize health knowledge,abstain from bad habits,cultivate healthy behaviors;Two sections focus on empowerment,breaking information segregation and sharing good parenting experiences;Section one eliminates hidden danger of contradiction between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law,repairs and maintains family support system.Each activity is analyzed in detail by the framework of basic situation,activity process,activity effect and activity analysis.At last,the conclusion is made to the evaluation of the whole group activity: long-term intergenerational parenting has caused serious parenting dilemma to the grandparents,and professional social work has greatly eased the dilemma.While alleviating the dilemma of the elderly in raising grandchildren,the practice of the group also found two problems.First,the coordination between social workers and grassroots management organizations was insufficient: the “three-social linkage”and “five-social linkage” had not yet been promoted,and social workers had not been effectively integrated into the life of rural people.Second,social workers still need to strengthen the construction and management problems: lack of effective supervision,service capacity is insufficient;Low pay affects the stability of social worker talent pool.In view of the two aspects of the problem put forward corresponding countermeasures.First,strengthen the macro-policy guidance of social work,adhere to the guidance of Party building and government leadership,vigorously promote rural social work,the establishment of rural nursery institutions.Second,we will build an efficient and coordinated social work service platform,including vigorously promoting the“linkage of the three social organizations”and the“linkage of the five social organizations”,establishing and improving the security system for social work talents,and accelerating the integration of rural social work into rural life.Third,establish and improve the system of connecting with social work,establish the system of taking responsibility for the risks of the elderly activities,and establish the incentive and security system for social workers.
