In the context of the development of Internet technology and the new media age,People’s working methods are becoming more flexible and diverse, and less limited by time, space and place. The Internet has gradually become our mainstream means of communication, which facilitates our information dissemination and exchange, brings new opportunities for the improvement of the employment matching rate of our workers, and reshapes our way of production and life. The application of Internet and the development of digital economy have given rise to a new mode of flexible employment, which makes a great change in people’s concept of employment.Based on job search theory, human capital theory and labor market segmentation theory, this paper uses indifference curve to construct an equilibrium model of Internet use and labor market, this paper analyzes the relationship and mechanism between Internet use and flexible employment. On the one hand, internet use can have a direct impact on flexible employment through the information search effect, the job matching effect, and by reducing the Information asymmetry problem, reduce the cost of the labor force to improve the job-matching efficiency of job seekers. On the other hand, internet use can have an indirect impact on flexible employment through human capital effects and social capital effects;job seekers use the internet for learning and communication, the accumulation of their own human capital and social capital, thereby improving their own ability to work,so as to enhance employment opportunities.Based on the relevant theoretical analysis, and referring to the relevant data published by the China Internet Network Information Center and the National Bureau of Statistics of the People’s Republic of China, the paper has conducted a broad overview of our country’s Internet use and flexible employment situation at the macro level,in order to make the empirical data consistent with the definition of Internet use and flexible employment, this paper uses micro-data for empirical testing.Using the microdatabase of the China household tracking survey in 2018 and 2020,the empirical analysis was carried out by using the Probit nonlinear binary selection model, the conclusion that the use of the internet can have a significant negative impact on flexible employment can still be verified after the correction of the PSM method, this shows that the workers who use Internet are more inclined to choose regular employment, improve our internet infrastructure, and promote internet popularization can effectively improve the quality of employment. On the basis of baseline regression, the importance of using the Internet as a source of employment information, the importance of learning on the Internet, the importance of social networking on the Internet and the interaction terms of using the Internet to test the direct and indirect mechanisms of the impact of Internet use on flexible employment, the results show that the use of the internet will reduce the probability of workers choosing flexible employment. Finally, the difference of the impact of Internet use on flexible employment was analyzed from the aspects of individual characteristics of workers and different uses of Internet, and the heterogeneity analysis was used as a supplement to the empirical study.Based on the above analysis, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions from the aspects of perfecting Internet infrastructure, popularizing basic network using skills, improving the service quality of Internet platform, etc.,improve the level of education of workers, regulate the internet platform recruitment and further establish and improve the relevant labor laws and regulations, improve the rights and interests of workers protection mechanism. |
