In the postpandemic era,as another important channel for information dis semination and relationship maintenance, the use of social media has become increasingly normalized. In the postepidemic era,the social media usage is increasingly normalized as another important channel for information dissemination and relationship maintenance. But at the same time, negative use of social media is on the rise.In the digital era, focusing on the negative usage behavior of social media users has sustainable development significance for users, social media developers and profitmaking stakeholders.Based on the CAC model, this study conducts research on the negative use behavior of social media among college students, who are one of the main forces of mobile social networking,in order to respond to practical concerns and enrich relevant empirical research. In the present study the author found that:(1)Looking at the various causes of negative social media use behavior, the demographic variables are not significantly different. At the same time, empirical studies have verified that there is a correlation between it and perceived overload and missed anxiety, and the role of other influencing factors other than those confirmed in this study is briefly sorted out.(2)The four dimensions of perceived overload of mediating variables in this study model, namely psychological motivation, cognitive motivation, behavioral performance and emotional changes, are all related to the negative use behavior of social media in the dependent variable. At the same time, the results show that cognitive motivation and behavioral performance can trigger the negative use of social media in college students to a greater extent.(3)Perceptual control has a moderating effect in the process of perceived overload on college students’ missed anxiety, and it has a negative regulatory effect.Synthesis of findings and relevant studies, the author found that measures such as optimizing system functions, improving digital literacy, and carrying out "digital dieting" can alleviate or eliminate the negative social media use behavior of college students to a certain extent. Finally, through the review of the research process and reflection on the results, the author made a summary of the limitations of this study, and conducts followup research on the basis of clear limitations to form supplementary or develop new research ideas.
