As the core variable affecting economic and social development, population factors plays fundamental, strategic and global roles in solving the real problems of "three rural areas" and building a new urban-rural relationship. The population situation is the most basic national condition. The new situation, new characteristics and new trends of urban and rural population change are relevant to the formulation and implementation of major decisions and plans.Population is the main body of social production and life. The new urbanization cannot be separated from the citizenship of the rural population, and the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy is also inseparable from the release of the demographic dividend of the "hometown returners".To realize rural revitalization in the process of population flow,it is necessary to accurately grasp the complex situation of population flow, refine the mechanism of population flow, and smooth the two-way channel of population flow. The experience of population mobility promoting poverty reduction in the practice of poverty alleviation in China will bring new enlightenment to the practice of rural revitalization. As a positive anti-poverty behavior, population mobility has increased farmers’ income, reached the goal of poverty reduction, promoted the level of urbanization, and laid a solid foundation currently being explored for the rural revitalization.Population mobility is a key driving force for rural revitalization.Based on the analysis of the related to theoretical foundation and influence mechanism of population flow, human capital accumulation and rural revitalization, identifies the research direction of this paper and puts forward the research hypothesis of this paper by combing through a large amount of literature. On this basis, the urban panel data of31 provinces and cities in China during 2011 to 2020 are selected as the sample and sub-regional research, and the current situation of population mobility and human capital accumulation are analyzed respectively;Secondly, the entropy method is used to measure rural revitalization and conduct relevant analysis. Finally, based on empirical analysis, starting from population flow and panel regression model, this paper comprehensively examines the correlation effect between population flow and rural revitalization, empirically tests the impact of population flow on rural revitalization with human capital accumulation as the intermediary variable, and uses the intermediary effect to introduce human capital accumulation into the correlation model between population flow and rural revitalization, and finally uses PVAR model to analyze population flow The internal relationship between human capital accumulation and rural revitalization. The results of the study show that population mobility in the eastern and central regions of China can significantly contribute to rural revitalization. In addition,it is also found that only the population movements in the eastern and central regions can promote the accumulation of human capital, and can indirectly promote rural revitalization through the accumulation of human capital, that is,there is an intermediary effect, and the mechanism of the intermediary effect in the eastern and central regions is weak. From the perspective of the dynamic relationship between population flow, human capital accumulation and rural revitalization, there is only a two-way causal relationship between population flow and human capital accumulation in the eastern and central regions. Finally, this paper comes up with corresponding rationalization suggestions for the above research conclusions:establish a perfect two-way flow mechanism of population, improve rural education, medical care and other social security systems, and deepening reform of the rural labor market system.
