A Study On The Problem Of Choosing A Spouse And Social Work Intervention Strategies For "Post-00" Youth

The choice of mate is not only an issue for young individuals,but also related to the progress and development of the times and affects social harmony and stability.The concept of young people’s choice of mate indicates the development direction of the future marriage and childbearing population,and is an important factor in predicting the future social family structure and population changes.Influenced by Western liberalism and "individual-oriented" values,the concept of mate selection of the "post-00s" is also very different from that of their predecessors,and young people,as the main force in forming families and giving birth to populations,have become a hot issue that society has to pay attention to.Through the study of mate selection of the "post-00s" group,this paper can further understand the concept of mate choice of young people in the new era,and also provide more experience for social work to intervene in marriage and family research.In this paper,we focus on the problem of choosing a spouse among young people,and take "post-00s" young people as the research object.Ten "post-00s" in S city were selected as the interviewees,and their perceptions of mate selection were analyzed in four dimensions: criteria for mate selection,mate selection method,mate selection psychology and mate selection cognition.After the analysis,it was found that the main dilemmas of "post-00s" youths in choosing a spouse were difficulties in falling in love due to idealized criteria for choosing a spouse,difficulties in socializing with the opposite sex due to the lack of social skills,single way of choosing a spouse due to excessive self-containment,and contradictions between the motivation and actual action of choosing a spouse.Based on the ecosystem theory,this paper analyzes and researches the causes of "post-00" youth’s mate selection dilemma from four levels:individual,peer group,family and society.Based on the above findings,this paper proposes strategies and solutions to alleviate the dilemma of choosing a spouse for the "post-00s" youth based on the perspective of group work under the guidance of social support theory and ecosystem theory.In this paper,six group work interventions are designed,and each session is designed according to the needs of the young people,hoping to improve their ability to choose a spouse,alleviate their anxiety and stress,and face their choice of spouse with a more positive attitude.Finally,I put forward my own suggestions on social work interventions for young people in choosing a spouse,hoping to make my own contribution to the theoretical and practical contents of social work research in the field of spouse selection.
