Social Work Intervention Research On The Relief Of Urban Vagrants And Beggars

With the acceleration of urbanization and the expansion of the scale of population flow,and the number of people begging on the street is increasing.Urban vagrants and beggars are special groups on the edge of society,they need survival,life and psychological care.However,the social attitude towards these groups is in a state of contradiction.On the one hand,they express sympathy for their life difficulties;on the other hand,they abhor those who use inferior means to beg.These phenomena have now evolved into serious social problems,which have attracted the attention of the government.The rescue service for vagrants and beggars has become a difficult task in our country.There are a great deal of problems in both the rescue system and the rescue management.For example,it is difficult to identify the identities of the rescue subjects,and there is a common phenomenon of occupation running station,and the rescue service is unitary.Therefore,we should not only pay attention to the improvement of the theoretical level of the rescue service,but also to the innovation of the specific practice,and constantly explore the diversified and specialized mode of social rescue work.A major breakthrough in China’s social assistance work is to introduce social work into the field of social assistance and change the government-led rescue model.Through the participation of social workers,it makes up for the defect that the government only pays attention to the material level of the rescue subjects,and turns the focus of service content to the psychological guidance,spiritual consolation and future development of the rescue subjects,which not only embodies the professional value of social work,but also effectively promotes the positive transformation of social rescue work from "heavy material and light service" to "material plus service".However,social work intervenes in the field of social rescue needs a development process,which can be successfully completed not only through some policies and regulations issued by the state,but also through continuous research and exploration to give full play to the effectiveness of the rescue policy.This thesis takes X salvation administer station in city P as the research object,the author have gained a comprehensive understanding of X salvation administer station in city P through its scale,operation mode and service content,as well as cooperation with social work institutions and other aspects of in–depth investigations and researches,and participate in some case work and group work personally.On this basis,the author selects typical cases and group activities,and describes in detail how social workers intervene in the rescue work of the salvation administer station,including preliminary preparation,rescue procedures,problems and so on.Through participating in these services and activities on the spot,the author reflects on the process of social work intervention,and puts forward suggestions on social work intervention in the relief of urban vagrants and beggars from different angles.
