Academic procrastination is a common phenomenon in junior high school students,which has an important impact on their academic achievement and school admission.This study introduced three variables: parenting style,time management disposition,and differential teacher behavior,aiming to investigate the characteristics of academic procrastination in current junior high school students and explore the internal mechanism of the relationship between parenting style and academic procrastination.In this paper,531 junior high school students were selected as the research objects;the Academic Procrastination Questionnaire for Junior High School Students,the Chinese version of the Short Parenting Style Questionnaire,the Adolescent Time Management Disposition Scale,and the Differential Teacher Behavior Questionnaire were used as the measurement tools;SPSS22.0 software was used for descriptive statistical analysis,independent sample t-test,analysis of variance,correlation analysis and moderated mediation test.The results showed that:(1)There are significant differences between the sexes in the delayed execution of academic procrastination,the sense of time value of time management disposition,the opportunity privilege,guidance control,and negative feedback of differential teacher behavior.There are significant differences among the grades in the paternal overprotection,maternal rejection,maternal overprotection of the parenting style,the total score of academic procrastination,delayed remedy,delayed summary,the total score of time management disposition,sense of time control,and the opportunity privilege,guidance control and emotional support of differential teacher behavior.There are significant differences in whether junior high school students are class cadres in the paternal emotional warmth of parenting style,the total score of academic procrastination,delayed execution,delayed remedy,delayed summary,the total score of time management disposition,the sense of time value,sense of time control,sense of time efficacy,and the opportunity privilege,guidance control and emotional support of differential teacher behavior.There are significant differences in whether junior high school students are the only child in the maternal rejection and maternal emotional warmth of the parenting style.There are significant differences in whether junior high school students are migrant children in the sense of time value of time management disposition.There are significant differences among the paternal education backgrounds in the maternal emotional warmth of the parenting style.There are significant differences among the maternal education backgrounds in paternal rejection,paternal overprotection,and maternal rejection of the parenting style,as well as the emotional support of differential teacher behavior.The paternal occupation has a significant difference in the paternal overprotection of the parenting style,while the maternal occupation has no significant effect.There are significant differences among the annual family incomes of junior high school students in the paternal emotional warmth of the parenting style,the delayed planning and delayed summary of academic procrastination,the total score of time management disposition and the sense of time control,and the opportunity privilege and guidance control of differential teacher behavior.(2)The parenting style,time management disposition,and differential teacher behavior of junior high school students are significantly correlated with the academic procrastination.(3)Time management disposition plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between the paternal rejection and academic procrastination,and the differential teacher behavior can greatly moderate the relationship between time management disposition and academic procrastination.Time management disposition plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between the paternal warmth and academic procrastination,and the differential teacher behavior can greatly moderate the relationship between time management disposition and academic procrastination.Time management disposition plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between maternal rejection and academic procrastination,and the differential teacher behavior can greatly moderate the relationship between time management disposition and academic procrastination.Time management disposition plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between maternal warmth and academic procrastination,and the differential teacher behavior can greatly moderate the relationship between time management disposition and academic procrastination.In conclusion,the parenting style of junior high school students has a significant impact on academic procrastination,among which the time management disposition has a significant mediating effect between parenting style and academic procrastination,and differential teacher behavior plays a significant moderating effect between parenting style and academic procrastination. |
