The delays may be a consequence of poor management of time andmay be a behavior which is accompanying with time management. Atpresent, academic procrastination is an extremely common behaviorwhich exists in the groups of students. Academic procrastination is theextension of procrastination of students in life which means the individualis otfen to delay learning task, and otfen to experience the tendency ofproblematic anxiety about procrastination. Academic procrastination is acomplicated psychology mental phenomenon which includes cognition,feelings,and behavior. The researchers at home and abroad generally’consider that academic procrastination can not only affect the students situation of completing the tasks and the academic achievement, but alsocan influence the experience of undesirable mood to individual, so it isnecessary to focus on it and study on it.From1980s,western psychologists have started to explore thissubject, and obtained substantial research achievement. However,domestic studies in this area were comparatively weak, especially toexplore the situation of high school students. So the research is based on analyzing and summarizing the domestic and foreign study which isabout the phenomenon of academic procrastination,to see the juniorstudents in the middle school as the research object, analyzes the presentcondition that delay of the junior high school students’ work,and therelated variables for analysis, understand the characteristics of the juniorhigh school students’ academic procrastination. The so-called timemanagement disposition refers to the use of time resources in the way ofindividual shown on the psychological and behavioral characteristics. Thejunior students are in the important period of studying and even the life,so it is very important to grasp the skills of the time management and usethe time effectively. Therefore, the paper analyzes the current situation ofthe junior stud’ents time management disposition and investigates therelationship between the time management disposition and academicprocrastination, which is not only benefit for the teachers to help thejunior students form good study habits and reduce the procrastination, butalso can be benefit for improving the academic achievement of the juniorstudents at last.The research adopts literature, interview and questionnaire; on thebase of analyzing the domestic and foreign literatures and documents,using "Adolescence Time Management Disposition Scale” and "Themiddle school students^academic procrastination questionnaire" to theten classes of three middle schools of Liaoyang in Liaoning province,the sum of the questionnaire is510,excluding33invalid questionnaires andreceiving474valid questionnaires, the recovery rate is92.9%.Adopting Tscores, analysis of variance and other methods to deal with the obtaineddata and study it, examines the present situation and characteristics of thejunior students^academic procrastination and reveals the relationshipbetween academic procrastination and time management dispositiondeeply, in order to provide reasonable suggestions for teaching.The main conclusions are as follows:1.Academic procrastination and time management disposition of juniorhigh school students are all in the middle level.2.The students of different gender in procrastination scale weresignificantly different, compared with the girls, the boys have moreprocrastination behavior; the students of different gender in timemanagement disposition were not significantly different.3.The students of different grades in academic procrastination weresignificantly different, while not signiifcantly different in timemanagement disposition, but the sense of time control was affected bygrade greatly, the third grade student’s scores is the lowest in timemanagement disposition and the highest in academic procrastination.4.Only child of the students in time management disposition andacademic procrastination have no difference with non-child.5.There is a significant difference on academic procrastination and time management disposition whether you are the class committee members ornot.6.There is a significant difference on academic procrastination and timemanagement disposition between different academic achievements.7.Academic procrastination and time management disposition of juniorhigh school students were significantly negative correlation.
