| Nowadays most Chinese High school students make career planning basing on self-knowledge combining search of different jobs.But high school students through the previous approach to career planning often face the following problems: on the one hand,in terms of self-knowledge,a large part of the students could not define acadamic fields which they have advantages and interests on;on the other hand,in terms of career search,for most high school students,their knowledge of different professions is one-sided and they lack of ways to get comprehensive and actual information relating with majors and professions.For example,they could not know about the duty and value of different professions,meanwhile they could not understand various kinds of university majors clearly,also they could not find the relativity bwtween them.With the continuous advancement of college entrance examination reform,universities will implement more policies about "professional-oriented" enrollment mode.The reform of college entrance examination would provide students with more choices,at same time put forward higher requirements for the students’ career planning.In addition to helping students make a better plan of their career development from high school,are their situation and ability of career planning at high school closely related to their mental health and academic performance? Whether it is positive correlation like what we traditionally think? These all are thinkings that we get from the practice.The aim of this article is discussing relathionship between high school student career planning and their mental health level and academic achievement through statistic model.This article would use questionnaire survey to study 977 high school students from three different middle schools in Urumqi through Career Planning Scale,College Students’ Career Planning Ability Questionnaire and Mental Health Inventroy of Middle-School srudents(MMHI-60).It would statistically analyze present situation of students’ career planning,career planning ability,mental health and academic achievement as four variables and explore the relationship between them.Our research shows that Chinese high schlool students career planning is in moderate level generally and there are some significant differences among different grades;meanwhile Chinese high school students mental health level is in upper middle level and there are some significant differences among different gender and grade.In conclusion,ability of high school students career planning has positive correlation with their academic performance and mental health level.Illustration:Our research think the improvement of ability of High school students career planning would make a positve impact on thier mental health and academic.This article would conclude the emphasis of high school career planning course and guide psychological teachers how to design course by tying course to discipline education,mental health counseling and career education closely.Eventually,this study aims that high school career planning course can not only help students choose major and fill in Application of College Entrance Examination,it can also improve students’ academic performance and help them maintain the positive and stable mental health. |
