At present,with the rapid development of my country’s social economy and the continuous improvement of people’s living standards,Chinese people’s demand for a better life is getting higher and higher.In recent years,the level of ship and shore wages for maritime work has become closer and closer,resulting in reluctance.The number of ocean-going seafarers on board is increasing,and the number of ocean seafarers is becoming increasingly scarce.There are fewer and fewer seafarers,and the existing seafarers are very precious,and maritime social work is based on helping seafarers.From the perspective of seafarers,family factors are also one of the reasons why they are unwilling to work on ships.This research focuses on the parent-child relationship among family factors,mainly studying the improvement of the parent-child communication skills of ocean seafarers,helping ocean seafarers to improve their parent-child communication skills and promoting the harmonious development of parent-child relationships.Ocean seafarers’ parent-child communication refers to the process of communication and exchange between ocean-going seafarers and their children,and at the same time can enhance the emotional intimacy between the two parties.This is one of the important mechanisms for maintaining the parent-child relationship of ocean seamen.Because the parent-child relationship has a certain particularity,which is reflected in its intimacy,non-selectivity,and irreplaceability,it has a pivotal position in the growth of children.Whether ocean seafarers have good parent-child communication skills will affect whether the children of ocean seafarers can have a healthy body and mind,promote the intimacy between parents and children of ocean seafarers,and also enable ocean seafarers to work more attentively on board.This research is mainly aimed at seafarers who need to improve their parent-child communication skills,and intervenes with group work methods to solve their communication barriers and promote the establishment of a harmonious parent-child relationship.This research started with the ocean seafarers of COSCO SHIPPING Dalian.Through the sorting and analysis of relevant documents at home and abroad,the questionnaires were distributed to ocean seafarers,and ocean seafarers with parent-child communication barriers were selected for interviews,so as to gain in-depth understanding of ocean seafarers.The current situation and performance of parent-child communication,summarize and analyze the reasons that cause the parent-child communication barriers of ocean seafarers.Then,6 ocean seafarers who need to improve parent-child communication skills and have a strong willingness to participate and 12 of their parents and children were selected as the service objects of the group service.The purpose of using group work methods to carry out research is to improve the parent-child communication skills of ocean-going seafarers,and at the same time promote the intimacy between their parents and children,and improve the happiness index of seafarers.At the same time,this study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to evaluate group activities,and investigates the role and effect of group work methods involved in improving the parent-child communication ability of ocean seafarers.According to research,the group work method can effectively improve the parent-child communication awareness and skills of ocean-going seafarers.Both parents and children of ocean seafarers are very satisfied with the group activities,and the group goals are basically achieved.Finally,by summarizing and reflecting on group services,it will provide some reference and reference for other scholars to further carry out researches on the improvement of ocean seafarers’ parent-child communication skills in the future.
