| Exploring teaching models to promote students ’ cognitive development and quality development has become the focus of teaching practice and research.Model cognition is one of the important literacy goals in high school chemistry,and many researchers have explored teaching models based on model cognition,but their teaching effectiveness has not been effectively verified.Element compounds are an important part of senior high school chemistry teaching,but students generally have difficulties in learning.Models can regularize and organize the knowledge of element compounds and give students basic ideas and methods for learning.Therefore,the teaching of elemental compounds from the perspective of model cognition is of certain research significance.This research first clarified the connotation of model,chemical model and model cognition by consulting domestic and foreign literature,and sorted out the research related to teaching from the perspective of model cognition and model cognitive ability.Teaching from the perspective of model cognition can improve students’ model cognitive ability and academic performance.Then,the teaching model from the model cognitive perspective was constructed in combination with literature research,analysis of textbook and curriculum standards and teaching practice,and the class construction from the model cognitive perspective was determined to be divided into four steps.namely,selecting a chemical model for instructional analysis,designing activities to construct a chemical model,designing problems to use the chemical model,and revising the chemical model in problem solving.Each step follows certain teaching principles,and corresponding teaching strategies can be adopted in teaching.According to the teaching construction steps from the model cognitive perspective,the teaching case design and overall framework design were carried out.Finally,taking Sulfur and Its Compounds as the teaching content and two classes of students in a key senior high school in Chongqing as the teaching objects,the unit teaching practice of Sulfur and Its Compounds from the perspective of model cognition was carried out.The test paper was prepared and its content validity was tested.It was used to test students’ knowledge ability and model cognitive ability before and after teaching practice.In the meantime,the students were interviewed and their feedback is collected on the class from the perspective of model cognition.The test results and interview results were combined to evaluate the teaching practice effect and reflect on the teaching class from the cognitive perspective of the model.The test results and interview results show that the chemistry class from the perspective of model cognition can improve students’ model cognitive ability and their chemical achievements,help them better master chemical knowledge.Besides,students have a high acceptance of this teaching mode.The comprehensive research results show that chemistry teaching from the perspective of model cognition is effective. |
