In this year,to meet the development needs of the times and society,the Ministry of Education proposed to strengthen the cultivation of students’ core competency of physics subject at the stage of compulsory education.Due to historical reasons such as the restructuring and reform of the school,the school where the author works has missed the period of vigorous development of educational reform in recent years.Under the limited teaching level and the pressure of the entrance examination rate,most teachers adopt traditional and conventional exam oriented teaching methods in junior high school physics teaching.Therefore,students are generally forced to accept the boring physical theory learning and lack the exploration experience of physical experiments.Physics teachers of our Grade were limited to the tactical preparation for the examination,lacking guidance for students to construct systematic concept law knowledge and model understanding,so students lack confidence when facing complex situation problems.Meanwhile,students only remember superficial knowledge for experimental inquiry and other issues.Hence,the students in this school are afraid of difficulties in physics and lack confidence and interest in learning physics.After learning the current research trends in junior high school physics teaching,this paper aims to promote the design of large units with the goal of physics core competency.In order to solve the current teaching problems of physics in junior high school,the author determined the research of this topic on the basis of bench marking the junior high school physics compulsory education curriculum standard(2022 version),applying the general theory of modern large units teaching and the model of academic record.First,the theoretical aspects of the study include: based on the Compulsory Education Physics Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition),the theory of unit teaching and the core literacy of junior high school physics,the concept of large unit teaching in junior high school physics is clearly defined,the specific organization and operation path of unit teaching in junior high school physics to cultivate students’ core literacy is analyzed and specifically proposed,and the teaching content of current and circuit is defined.The content of the large unit is defined.The design model of the unit academic program is used to concretely design the learning program for the large unit of currents and circuits.To test the effectiveness of the current and circuit unit teaching design,a two-week teaching experiment of current and circuit in junior school was carried out.Through the academic measurement,concept map task,experimental operation test,questionnaire survey and other ways to evaluate the teaching design and practice effect of unit teaching.The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.The current and the circuit unit teaching instructional design concept,organization,and specific operation path,to cultivate students with core physical competency as the goal of unit teaching design provides guidance.2.After the teaching experiment of the unit teaching of "current and circuit",the analysis data show that the core competency of junior middle school physics of the students in the experimental class has been improved on the whole.3.In the "current and circuit" after the unit of study,experimental class most of the students have an interest to electrical knowledge,master the certain problem solving method and experimental exploration ability.In summary,the teaching effect of the large unit of "current and circuit" is better than the conventional teaching,which shows that it can effectively achieve the teaching goals,has a positive impact on students’ physical academic performance,and effectively cultivates and develops students’ physics core competency of junior middle school.
