Objective: Through the experimental study of the students of the basketball special class of Shanghai No.8 Middle School,this paper aims to improve the physical fitness of teenagers,explore the impact of high-intensity interval training on the sports performance of high school students,and provide reference for the reform of the physical education curriculum.Methods:(1)Literature method: Mainly web of science,Pub Med,Wanfang and CNKI database literature.(2)Experimental method: 45 boys in the special class of high school basketball,including 15 in the interval experimental group of choreography combination(hereinafter referred to as experimental group I),15 in the running interval experimental group(hereinafter referred to as experimental group II),and 15 in the control group.High-intensity interval training intervention of 20 minutes twice a week for 8 weeks for experimental groups I and II;the control group had no high-intensity interval training intervention,To compare the changes of physical test scores and basketball specific test scores of experimental group one,experimental group two and control group before and after the experiment.(3)Mathematical statistics: Experimental analysis of the data was carried out using SPSS 26.0.Results: After 8 weeks of intervention,the experimental groups I,II and control groups were compared with the post-experimental data to conclude:(1)In terms of improving body morphology,there was no significant difference in height of experimental group I and II,weight and BMI showed significant p<0.05,and there was no significant difference in height,weight and BMI of control group.(2)In terms of physical function,aerobic endurance,explosive strength and flexibility,the experimental group’s first and second lung capacity,1000 meters,standing long jump and sitting body forward flexion score showed significant differences p<0.05,the control group’s lung capacity,1000 meters,standing long jump and seated body forward flexion score showed a significant difference of p<0.05,and the experimental group I,II and control groups had no significant difference in lung capacity,1000 meters,standing long jump and seated body forward flexion score.(3)In terms of speed and basketball-specific skills,the test scores of the 50 meters and basketball level 4 of the experimental group I and II showed a significant difference of p<0.05,the test scores of the 50 meters of the control group and the fourth level of basketball showed a significant difference of p<0.05,and the test scores of the 50 meters and the fourth level of basketball in the experimental group and the control group showed a significant difference of p<0.05,that is,high-intensity interval training can improve the test results of 50 meters and basketball level 4.(4)In terms of muscle strength and endurance,there was no significant difference in pull-up performance between the experimental group and the control group.Conclusion:(1)High-intensity interval training can improve high school boys’ performance in the 50 m and basketball level 4 tests;(2)High-intensity interval training can promote the development of cardiorespiratory capacity,lower limb explosive power and physical flexibility,as well as reduce body weight and maintain physical health;(3)High-intensity interval training has the characteristics of short duration and high efficiency,so it is recommended to be added to the physical fitness exercises of daily physical education courses.
