Skateboarding was introduced to our country in the 1990 s.With a large audience in the United States and other places where it originated, domestic skateboarding started late, the audience is small, and the competition operation is still in the development stage. The public generally labels the skateboard youth group as "rebellious" and "not doing their job properly".Since the International Olympic Committee announced skateboarding as an Olympic sport in 2016,the country has provided support for the development of the skateboarding industry from the perspective of both hardware and software. And the country has also established a national skateboarding team.Officials have also taken measures such as letting skateboards enter the campus and letting influential artists serve as skateboarding ambassadors to gradually decrease the public’s prejudice against skateboarding. This makes skateboarding show a trend of competitive, commercial and national diversified development in China, and enables young people who love skateboarding to find a suitable position in the industry. In this article the author interviewed the Shanghai Extreme Sports Association, the founder of Shanghai SPOT SKATE Skateboarding, and the coach of a current skateboard training institution who has served as a skateboarder for the Hubei Provincial Team. From the professional experiences of the three groups of interviewees,it describes the changes in the development environment of skateboarding in China in the past ten years, the changes in public perceptions, the collision of skateboarding cultures, and the evolution of skateboarding youth groups. It discussed in depth how the cultural genes of skateboarding and the domestic environment can be adapted, and how to seek common ground while reserving differences between the skater groups inside and outside the national system. This paper adopts the method of literature review, interview and case study to interview the official promotion organizations, brand founders and institutional coaches of skateboarding in Shanghai. It also conducts investigation and research on the current domestic skateboard industry development and skateboard publicity methods. The article also combines data analysis and research to put forward suggestions for the future promotion of skateboarding in China. The author hopes that through this article, more people will pay attention to the development of skateboarding in China and the current situation of the youth group of skateboarding. In the future,we are bound to further popularize and promote skateboarding with a new look in the new era to a wider range of social groups through more diversified official and non-governmental linkages.
