Since the promulgation of the General High School Chinese Curriculum Standard in 2017,Cultivating students’ Chinese core literacy has become the starting point and goal of high school Chinese teaching.As the first task group of Chinese learning,"the whole book reading and discussion" is being gradually implemented in Chinese teaching practice.The whole book reading teaching,as an important supplement to the teaching of a single article,plays a vital role in the improvement of students’ Chinese literacy.However,how to truly implement the training goal of core Chinese literacy in the whole book reading teaching,and improve students’ ability in language application,thinking development,aesthetic construction,cultural inheritance,is still a problem that the majority of front-line teachers are concerned about.This study uses the modern classic novel Border Town as an example of the whole book reading,using literature research method,case study method and interview method.According to the requirements of the core quality of Chinese,a complete teaching process is designed to explore the feasible plan of the whole book reading teaching in senior high school.This paper consists of three parts:introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction part elaborates the reasons,significance and methods of the research,and discusses the existing relevant research results.The text part consists of four chapters:the first chapter explains the definition of the Chinese core literacy and the whole book reading teaching,and expounds the relationship between the two and explains the significance of the whole book reading teaching based on the Chinese core literacy.The second chapter is the teaching design.Firstly,it analyzes the teaching value of reading the whole book of Border from the perspective of Chinese core literacy.On this basis,it determines the teaching objectives and makes teaching arrangements according to the curriculum standards and students’ situation.The third chapter elaborates the teaching implementation process in detail,and forms practical plans through five lesson types:"introduction exciting class","comprehensive reading class","text discussion class","in-depth exploration class" and "text extension class".Based on the theoretical and practical exploration of the first three chapters,the fourth chapter carries out rational thinking on the whole book reading teaching based on the Chinese core literacy,summarizes the teaching effectiveness and teaching difficulties,and reflects on the teacher’s role positioning.
