At present,“enhance morality,foster talents” is the fundamental task of the development of education in the new era of socialism.The core quality of Chinese subjects is the embodiment of moral education in the reform of Chinese curriculum.The curriculum building of "whole book reading" adapts to the requirements of cultivating a student's core literacy.It is one of the most important contents of the latest round of Chinese curriculum reform in senior high schools,so it has become a research hotspot in recent years.This paper uses the “whole book reading” teaching technique as the research content under the guidance of the new curriculum standard and the previous whole book reading research.It provides theoretical and practical references for “whole book reading” teaching to front-line Chinese teachers.Its aim is to assist the “whole book reading” of senior high school students,using a case study of the “whole book reading” teaching of “Border Town” as the main study method.The research is divided into four parts: the introduction;an overview of the“whole book reading” teaching of senior high school novels,a text interpretation of the “whole book reading” teaching of "The Border Town",and a teaching design of“whole book reading” of "Border Town".In the introduction,the author expounds the origin,the significance,the thinking and the method of the research,and provides a literature review of the previous studies.In the first chapter,the author analyzes the current situation of the “whole book reading” teaching in senior high schools,and expounds the reason of choosing “The Border Town” as the object of case study.In the second chapter,the author introduces the thought of the close reading of the text into the “whole book reading” teaching of “The Border Town”.In the third chapter,the author creates a teaching design of five class periods from four teaching sections:reading guide,general reading guidance,key content study,content integration,and explains the design intention as well as provides suggestions of implementation and evaluation.
