With the gradual fading of my country’s demographic dividend in recent years,the number of new labor force has also been declining.How to tap more labor resources has become the top priority of my country’s economic development,and how to make full use of and release the potential female labor force to truly improve the female labor force.The labor force participation rate has become an effective response to this problem.Due to the continuous optimization of my country’s fertility policy,under the double burden of family care and market labor,many women choose to leave the labor market,resulting in a continuous decline in the labor force participation rate of women in my country year by year.Under the traditional Chinese cultural background,the intergenerational support provided by parents for their children may have a certain alleviating effect on women’s labor supply constraints.Therefore,based on the perspective of family intergenerational transmission,this paper takes the two dimensions of intergenerational economic support and intergenerational time support as the starting point to explore the impact of parental intergenerational support on female labor participation.The increasingly severe shortage of labor supply under the background of the continuous reduction of my country’s demographic dividend provides a certain reference.This paper uses the data of the 2018 CFPS survey to examine the impact of parental intergenerational support on female labor participation.When considering endogeneity,it is found that there is a negative correlation between parental financial support and female labor participation,but the impact is not significant,while Parental time support has a significant positive effect on women’s labor participation.The regression results without considering the endogeneity problem are as follows:First,the financial support provided by parents has a significant negative effect on women’s labor participation.to be significant.In the robustness test,the amount of parental financial support has no significant effect on female labor participation.Second,parental time support has a significant positive impact on female labor participation.For women with urban household registration,married and with children,parental time support has a more significant positive impact on labor participation.In the robustness test,other things being equal,as the frequency of time support provided by parents increases,the probability of female labor participation also increases.Based on the above analysis,this paper believes that it is necessary to improve the laws,regulations and policy systems related to women’s employment,increase support for women’s employment,and establish a more complete women’s employment guarantee system;Scale and quantity,improve the supply quality of domestic labor services,promote the development of the public childcare service system and the domestic service market,ease the constraints of family care responsibilities on women’s labor participation,and help women balance family care and employment;introduce intergenerational care according to local conditions Subsidy policy,flexible implementation of delayed retirement policy,and improvement of the system of intergenerational care;encourage parents to reduce the intergenerational economic backfeeding to their children,convert economic support into investment conducive to the development of children,and promote the increase of female labor participation rate. |
