The Relationship Between Parental Control,Impulsivity And Adolescent Risk-Taking Behavior

Adolescence is a critical period of individual life development,and it is also a pe riod of high frequency of risk-taking behavior.There are many factors affecting the fo rmation and development of adolescent risk-taking behavior,and the existing theories and studies show that the parenting style is one of the key factors.Aiming at the phen omenon of adolescent risk-taking behavior,this study aims to explore the influence of parental control parenting style on adolescent risk-taking behavior and the internal m echanism between them from the family level.A questionnaire survey was conducted on 1159 primary and secondary school students in Guangxi by using the Parental Cont rol Scale,impulsivity Scale and the Sensation Seeking Scale for primary and secondar y school students to explore the influence of parental control on adolescent risk-taking behavior and the role of impulsivity between them,and the following conclusions we re drawn:(1)In terms of gender difference,boys’ parental psychological control level,pos itive risk-taking behavior and total score of risk-taking behavior were higher than girls’;In the difference of whether the only child is an only child,the parent behavior contr ol level of the only child is higher than that of the non-only child.In terms of school b lock differences,there are differences in parental psychological control,parental beha vioral control,impulsive and risk-taking behavior scores and their dimensions.In ter ms of parents’ marital status,only negative risk-taking behavior has significant differe nce in parents’ marital status.(2)Parental psychological control is positively correlated with parental behavior al control,impulsivity,total score of risk-taking behavior and its dimensions;There w as a significant negative correlation between parental behavioral control and impulsivi ty,and a significant positive correlation between parental behavioral control and positi ve risk taking behavior and total risk taking behavior.(3)Impulsivity has a significant negative correlation with positive risk-taking be havior,and a significant positive correlation with negative risk-taking behavior and to tal risk-taking behavior.(4)Parental psychological control can positively predict positive and negative ris k-taking behavior;Parental behavioral control can positively predict positive risk-taki ng behavior.(5)Impulsivity plays a masking effect in the influence of parental psychological control on positive risk-taking behavior,and plays a partial mediating role in the influ ence of parental psychological control on negative risk-taking behavior;Impulsivity al so plays a partial mediating role in the influence of parental behavioral control on posi tive risk-taking behavior.
