HPS is an acronym for History,Philosophy and Sociology of Science,a new educational concept in science education that guides students through the history of scientific knowledge and emphasises the learning of the ideas,scientific methods and logical processes of scientists in the history of science.Students can cultivate the spirit of scientific inquiry and then apply the scientific knowledge they learn to solve problems in real life,so that they can truly understand that physics originates from life and serves life.The Ministry of Education released the General High School Physics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition),which summarises the core literacies of the subject of physics and specifies the correct values,key competencies and core literacies that students should master.With the introduction of core literacies,more and more research has been conducted on the concept of physics,but there is still little research on the concept of motion and interaction,which is an important part of the concept of physics,and the formation of the concept of motion and interaction plays a role in carrying on the concept of matter and energy,so it is necessary to This study is based on the HPS educational philosophy.This study uses the HPS educational philosophy as a theoretical framework,analyses the content of the new curriculum and textbooks on the concepts of motion and interaction and the content of HPS,and combines the results of student questionnaires and teacher interviews to design and practice a teaching case study on the development of the concepts of motion and interaction in high school physics students.Part Ⅰ: Using the literature analysis method,we review the development process of HPS education,understand the process of forming the concept of motion and interaction,and establish a teaching model for developing the concept of motion and interaction among high school students based on HPS education.Part Ⅱ: Statistical analysis of the HPS content in the compulsory part of the textbook,classification and annotation;collation and analysis of the content of the concept of motion and interaction in the new curriculum and in the textbook of high school physics.Part 3: A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the knowledge of high school students about HPS content,their learning of physics concepts and their learning styles of learning HPS content;then interviews were conducted with frontline teachers in high schools about HPS education and their views on using HPS education to develop students’ physics concepts.The results of the study show that: students’ knowledge of HPS-related content is low and students’ understanding of the concepts of motion and interaction is not deep;physics teachers have a positive attitude towards integrating HPS education into high school physics teaching,but they are not familiar enough with the HPS teaching model and content to easily use HPS education in their classrooms for teaching.Part 4: The HPS content of two subsections of the conceptual content of motion and interaction was studied,two case studies of teaching the conceptual content of motion and interaction in senior secondary physics based on the HPS teaching model were designed,and the teaching effectiveness of the HPS teaching model was compared and analysed through a post-class evaluation form.The results of the study show that HPS education in senior secondary physics teaching can effectively focus students’ attention in the physics classroom as well as increase their interest in learning;guide students to independently construct the concepts of motion and interaction,cultivate their scientific thinking and scientific investigation ability;help students to form relatively complete concepts of motion and interaction,and promote their overall development.It is hoped that this study can provide some theoretical guidance and effective practical reference for the majority of front-line high school physics teaching staff.
