Teacher-student communication is the teaching generation process in which teachers andstudents through verbal and nonverbal media realize resources sharing, exchange ofinformation, emotional expression in the class situation. Good communication is a democratic,equal,harmonious dialogue between teachers and students based on positive classroominteraction and the joint development. The essence of teaching is the interaction.However, thereality of the classroom teacher-student communication still exist many problems.Forexample,teachers are concerned only about students’ mastery degree of the knowledge,achievement and their own interest.The underlying reason is that modern teacher-studentinteraction is fettered by traditional teaching concept. Thirteen years have passed since theimplementation of new curriculum reform that requires teachers to change their teachingconcepts, and create an environment conducive to students learning.All of this is aimed atencouraging students to take the initiative to acquire knowledge and achieve comprehensivedevelopment of personality. But the policy still cant solved the problem completely.From the perspective of the class teacher-student interactions, combining traditionalteaching concepts and the modern one, this article uses theoretical analysis, case studies, andqualitative research methods taking three month classroom observations and18interviews ofa primary school language teacher who went through both traditional teaching and curriculumreform process.This article shows a true picture of her career.Depth analysis for the lack ofcommunication: Teachers taking this behaviors are derived from the impact of the teachingconcepts.Firstly, in the process of education reform and against the background requiringteachers change the traditional teaching concept,teachers’ teaching concepts in mind still existsome differences with actual teaching practice as the teaching practitioners. Secondly,traditional culture and teaching ideas hinder teaching concepts changes.Thirdly, the internalconstraints of education system, such as studies, examination system;Finally, the factors ofindividual teachers have a negative effect too.In short, the stick of long-established and accepted ideas and concepts undoubtedlysolidified teaching ideas and behavior of teachers, and also becomes a reason to avoidteaching thinking. In fact, updating teaching concepts depends not only on the ongoing reformof the state, society and school, but also teachers should make self-examination to keep upwith the development of times.
