With the implementation of the new curriculum reform and the use of new textbooks,the idea of transforming exam-oriented education into quality-oriented education is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people,and people pay more attention to the research of new teaching methods.According to the "Physics Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 Edition,2020revision)" issued by the Ministry of Education and the "Implementation Plan for the New Curriculum for Senior High Schools in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region" issued by the Guangxi Department of Education in 2021,teachers should constantly improve their teaching skills,learn advanced teaching concepts,and actively explore teaching modes that integrate with subject characteristics and student training objectives.5E teaching mode is an inquiry-based teaching mode based on constructivism theory.5E teaching mode can respect students’ subjectivity,help teachers better guide students to conduct independent learning,and help improve students’ scientific inquiry ability and scientific thinking level.Therefore,this study attempts to combine the 5E teaching model with the training of physics scientific thinking of senior high school students.On the one hand,it provides ideas for the localization of 5E teaching model;on the other hand,it cultivates students’ scientific thinking through the inquisition-oriented 5E teaching model to provide reference cases for front-line teachers’ teaching.Firstly,through literature analysis,this study analyzes the current research status of domestic and foreign scholars on the 5E teaching model and the cultivation of scientific thinking.The research shows that the 5E teaching model can effectively improve the teaching quality,enhance students’ learning interest,and is conducive to the cultivation of scientific thinking.However,there are few researches on the use of 5E teaching model to cultivate students’ scientific thinking in China.Secondly,questionnaire survey is used to investigate the students in senior high school to understand the current level of students’ scientific thinking and the teaching behavior of teachers training scientific thinking from the perspective of students.It is found that the current students in senior high school have a low level of overall scientific thinking,weak ability of model construction,scientific reasoning and scientific demonstration,but relatively good ability of questioning and innovation.Most teachers are able to cultivate students’ scientific thinking.At the same time,the interviews were conducted to understand the teaching methods used by front-line teachers,their views on the 5E teaching model and the measures to cultivate scientific thinking.The results showed that the current senior one students’ physical science thinking level was low,the teachers’ teaching methods were mainly inclined to traditional teaching,and the teachers held a positive attitude towards the 5E teaching model.The way of teachers’ training students’ scientific thinking is relatively simple,and the evaluation method mainly depends on students’ grades and the performance of answering questions in class.In order to improve students’ scientific thinking level of physics,this study combined with the theory of 5E teaching model put forward the application principles of 5E teaching model and the strategy of cultivating scientific thinking,and carried out teaching practice.The author selects two classes with similar situations from the teaching class for teaching practice research,respectively as the control class and the experimental class.The traditional teaching method is continued in the control class,while the experimental class is taught with cases designed based on the 5E teaching model.After practice,the practice class is better than the control class in classroom performance,academic performance,scientific thinking level and other aspects,indicating that the 5E teaching model is conducive to improving students’ learning interest and academic performance,and the 5E teaching model is better than the traditional teaching in cultivating students’ scientific thinking.
