With the advancement of education reform,the our country has put forward new requirements for the cultivation of talents in primary and secondary schools,that is,focusing on cultivating students’ core competence,morals education quality and innovative practice.Among them,improving students’ creativity is conducive to accelerating the national scientific and technological innovation and improving the economic level.In order to cultivate comprehensive and innovative talents,scholars in the education field are committed to studying various teaching concepts and methods.In recent years,the concept of STEAM education has gradually emerged,and it has become one of the key research objects of many educators because of its unique,advanced and practical interdisciplinary teaching concept,and is in line with my country’s requirements for training new educational talents.Modeling instruction is a teaching method often used by biology teachers,and its teaching concept and educational goals have certain overlap and adaptability with the STEAM education concept.Taking the textbook "Molecules and Cells" as an example,this paper integrates and innovates the STEAM educational concept and modeling instruction,in order to activate students’ innovative logical thinking in the classroom,improve their practical ability,and promote the achievement of the core literacy of biology.First of all,this paper will sort out and write the theoretical basis,development status,and practical significance of modeling instruction based on the STEAM education concept by consulting the CNKI literature.Secondly,after the investigation and research on the teachers and students of the practice school,the teaching experiment of the high school biological modeling instruction based on the STEAM education concept was carried out.After the experiment,the teaching effect and experimental data were processed and analyzed by means of questionnaires,interviews and statistical analyses.Finally,by summarizing and summarizing the experimental results,the teaching design of this study can be further revised and improved.The results of the teaching practice of this research show that:(1)The teachers and students of this school have little understanding of the teaching method described in this paper,but the school pursues the innovation and improvement of the teaching model,and has a strong interest in this teaching model,which shows that this research has certain practical value of development and improvement;(2)Integrating STEAM education concept into high school biological modeling instruction is conducive to developing students’ innovative thinking,promoting the achievement of core biological competence,and stimulating learning interest;(3)Carrying out modeling instruction based on STEAM education concept,Students can use the interdisciplinary thinking of the STEAM education concept to solve practical problems in real situations,which meets cultivation requirements of biology courses;(4)Teachers are highly receptive to the application of this teaching model,and students’ learning interest and Activity are greatly increased.To sum up,this research has certain practical application value and can shed light on the teaching of front-line biology teachers.Based on the above practical results,this study puts forward the following suggestions for the teaching model:(1)Scientifically control students’ class time.If conditions permit,sufficient activity time can be provided for the teaching model by creating association activities and interest groups;(2)According to the distribution of teaching resources in different schools,the teaching model should be appropriately modified according to local conditions;(3)In order to effectively carry out this teaching model,teachers should be encouraged to continuously improve themselves by participating in training activities such as extracurricular professional knowledge learning and interdisciplinary lectures based on their own prior knowledge.
