The problems of "teaching fragmentation" and "large breadth but shallow depth",etc.appear during the implementing of quality-oriented education in China.Theory of "learning progression" aims to help students establish a complete knowledge structure,promotes students’ thinking development,and achieves effective connection of knowledge.Such theory can be used to make up for the shortcomings of China’s current education and cultivate students’ innovative thinking and practical ability.The research status of learning progression theory at home and abroad in recent years are firstly summarized in this study,based on the previous studies the definition,components and presentation methods of learning progression are shown.Secondly,the questionnaire are designed to investigates the problems existed in the process of understanding physical concepts.According to the survey conclusions the model for teaching and learning on unit combined considering with the unit teaching design model and the learning progression design model proposed by Professor Guo Yuying.Finally,the model is applied to the unit of "Interaction-Force" in Chapter 3,a compulsory high school physics course in the People’s Education Edition,and the teaching design of the advanced unit learning is written,and the teaching practice of the chapter "Interaction-Force" is carried out in the practice school.A control class and an experimental class are set up to teach five sections of the chapter "Interaction-Force" through the traditional teaching mode and the advanced learning teaching mode.After the unit teaching,the unit test paper is designed to examine the mastery of the third chapter of the control class and the experimental class,sort out the students’ results,and find that the experimental class is higher than the control class,indicating that the advanced teaching mode can optimize traditional teaching,help students form a systematic knowledge system,promote students’ mastery of physical concepts and improve their ability to solve practical problems.
