| Quality education emphasizes "people-oriented",that is,students are the subject of the classroom, and leaving blank space in the classroom is one of the important strategies to reflect students’ principal position in classroom.Mathematical abstraction is the most fundamental idea of mathematics, which runs through all mathematical activities and plays an important role in the process of students’ cognition, understanding and application of mathematical knowledge. In order to cultivate students’ mathematical abstraction and promote their development, this paper studies blank spaces in the high school mathematics classrooms. This paper first investigates the current situation of students’ conceptual learning and their level of mathematical abstraction in a high school by means of a questionnaire. We also interviewed teachers about different dimensions of classroom blank space, and combined the results of the interviews and observations of high school concept classes to obtain the current situation and problems of teachers’ use of classroom blank space in high school mathematics concept classes, and proposed relevant teaching strategies for the current situation of classroom blank space in concept classes. Finally,a comparative teaching experiment was conducted in two classes for the lesson "The Concept of Exponential Functions" with the teaching strategy of leaving blank space in the classroom as the guide. The teaching results showed that leaving blank space in the mathematics classroom can effectively optimize the mathematics classroom and improve the teaching efficiency.Teachers should aim to promote students’ all-round development, respect the principal position of students in the learning process, promote students’ active thinking in the classroom by leaving blank space, cultivate students’ mathematical thinking, improve students’ innovative spirit and practical ability, and take the classroom as the main front to promote students’ development. |
