| With the development of society and education,the language curriculum has placed greater emphasis on core literacy.Language core literacy is a concentrated expression of the nurturing value of the language subject,and the language curriculum should focus on developing students’ core literacy.Chinese characters are the carrier of Chinese culture and an important part of Chinese culture,and they are an important part of the language curriculum.However,the learning of Chinese characters at the senior secondary level should deepen on the teaching at the basic education level,moving from the teaching of literacy and writing to the teaching of knowledge of Chinese characters.As part of the learning content at senior secondary level,knowledge of Chinese characters is also important for the cultivation of students’ core language literacy.However,most of the current research is limited to the application of knowledge of Chinese characters to enhance students’ language construction and use,neglecting the role of knowledge of Chinese characters in promoting several other aspects of core language literacy.Therefore,this article links knowledge of Chinese characters with core language literacy,explores the value and significance of knowledge of Chinese characters in enhancing students’core language literacy,and,based on this,proposes strategies for applying knowledge of Chinese characters to cultivate students’ core language literacy in accordance with the requirements of the new curriculum and the current situation of the application of knowledge of Chinese characters in teaching.The paper is divided into three parts:introduction,body and conclusion,with the body part being divided into four chapters.The first chapter defines the scope of the knowledge of Chinese characters that can be applied in the teaching of high school languages,based on the theory of Chinese characters.It also discusses the necessity of applying knowledge of Chinese characters from the perspective of the requirements of the language curriculum standards and the value and significance of knowledge of Chinese characters to the different dimensions of language core literacy.In the second chapter,a questionnaire is used to investigate the current situation of applying knowledge of Chinese characters in high school language teaching,summarise the current problems and analyse the reasons for them.In the third chapter,based on the analysis of the current situation,the principles that should be followed in applying knowledge of Chinese characterology to cultivate students’ core language literacy are proposed,namely the principles of scientificity,screening,targeting and systematization.It also proposes application strategies in three aspects:teachers’ knowledge reserve and competence,teaching philosophy and teaching methods,and implementation of core language literacy taking into account all dimensions.Chapter 4 takes into account the unified version of the senior secondary language textbook,the teaching philosophy of the new standard and the knowledge of Chinese characters,and adopts the approaches of explaining characters with the text,teaching unit tasks and teaching the topic of Chinese characters to write the teaching design respectively,so as to provide teachers with ideas for applying the knowledge of Chinese characters to cultivate the teaching of core language literacy. |
