The sense of meaning in life includes two dimensions: cognition and motivation.It is a person’s ability to perceive the existence of their life meaning and to set and pursue goals in life.Future time insight is a personality trait that individuals exhibit in their cognition,experience,and action(or tendency to act)over time.Learning engagement is a positive emotional cognition manifested by students immersion in learning,which includes three dimensions: recognition of vitality,dedication,and focus.Research has shown that there is a close relationship between the sense of meaning in life,future time insight,and learning engagement,and there is a certain connection among the three.However,research on the relationship between these three is relatively rare.Therefore,this study aims to explore the relationship between life meaning,future time insight,and learning engagement,and propose corresponding educational strategies based on this.This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 738 high school students using the "Sense of Life Scale","Youth Future Time Insight Power Scale",and "Learning Engagement Scale".Analyze and study the characteristics of high school students sense of life meaning,future time insight,and learning engagement,and based on this,analyze the mediating role of future time insight between sense of life meaning and learning engagement.(1)The score of high school students sense of meaning in life is above the average level,indicating that high school students have a good level of sense of meaning in life.There are significant differences in the sense of life significance in gender,grade,and family location,but there are no significant differences in whether one is a class cadre or an only child.(2)High school students future time insight scores are above average,indicating that they have a good level of future time insight.There were no significant differences in future time perception in terms of gender,grade,being a class leader,being an only child,or family residence.(3)The score of high school students learning engagement level is above average,indicating that high school students have a high level of learning engagement.There are significant differences in learning engagement in terms of gender,grade,being a class leader,being an only child,and family location.(4)There is a significant positive correlation between high school students sense of life meaning and learning engagement,future time insight and learning engagement,and a significant positive correlation between sense of life meaning and future time insight.(5)Future time insight plays a part of the indirect effect in the sense of life meaning and learning engagement.Based on the above research conclusions,the following educational strategies are proposed:(1)Emphasize the construction of a life education system to enhance students sense of life significance.(2)Guide students to have clear academic plans and enhance their future time insights.(3)Emphasize learning psychological counseling...
