With the landing and implementation of the 2022 edition of the Chinese curriculum standards,some schools and teachers are constantly trying to promote the teaching practice of reading the whole book.However,the whole book has a huge reading content and a complete information chain,which has higher requirements for teachers’ professional level.The promotion of whole book reading teaching is still facing great challenges.Moreover,senior students in primary school usually focus on single reading,the tendency of scattered reading is more obvious and the reading time is short.So it is difficult to develop good reading habits.Teachers to carry out the whole book reading is just a simple advocate and the generalized acceptance of the reading results.Teachers have weak awareness of guidance and little process monitoring.The teaching method is also the general transfer of the single reading method,which seriously reduces the space for students’ independent reading experience.In view of this,this study adopts the survey methods such as questionnaire survey and interview method.The research objects are the students and teachers in the third stage of primary school section of Y primary school in Z city.Investigated the current situation of the whole book reading teaching of students and teachers in the third stage of primary school.Through the study,it is found that there are still some problems in the reading teaching of the whole book in the third learning section of primary school at present.For instance,teachers lack an in-depth understanding of the whole book reading and lack an overall plan for the teaching of reading the whole book.There are arbitrariness and incompleteness in teacher guidance.The course type of the whole book reading teaching is lack of diversification and the evaluation method of the whole book reading teaching is one-sided.The main reasons are as follows.The teachers themselves are lack of reading literacy in the whole book.Teachers are not well prepared and considered comprehensively and their guidance method is traditional.Teachers have not yet implemented the whole book reading teaching.And the teaching evaluation is not related to teaching practice.In order to solve the existing problems and effectively improve the whole book reading teaching.This study puts forward the corresponding countermeasures from the cognitive level,the implementation level and the evaluation level of the whole book.In terms of teaching cognition,teachers should improve the understanding of the whole book reading teaching as a whole;In terms of teaching implementation,teachers should systematically plan their preparation before the whole book reading teaching,enrich the whole book reading teaching guidance methods,explore the diversified and effective teaching paths;In terms of teaching evaluation,teachers should flexibly use the whole book reading teaching evaluation.
