Social education, school education and family education play their respective roles in human development and cooperate with each other as well.Homeschool co-education can be beneficial to enhance the effectiveness of education and implement the educational goals of moral education. On the one hand, with the rapid development of society and economy, education has been constantly reformed. At the same time, the importance and effectiveness of home-school co-education have also received extensive attention. And home-school co-education has played an important part in promoting the overall development of education in China. On the other hand, with the reform and opening up policy,China’s economy has developed rapidly, followed by an increasing number of migrants and their children.Because of the particularity of the migrant children and their parents, the topic of parents’ participation in home-school co-education deserves our further study.Through observation, questionnaire and interview, the current situation of parents’ participation in home-school co-education in new-built migrant children gathering schools has been investigated and the main problems of parents’ participation in homeschool co-education have been analyzed in this thesis as follows: the job focus for the new-built schools deviates from home-school co-education and the parents’ shortage of ability of co-education;schools’ willingness of home-school co-education is low and the organization of co-education is ineffective;parents’ own capital is weak, imposing restrictions on the effect of participation;cognitive bias and lack of trust foundation between homes and schools;the sole content of home-school co-education and the formalistic activities make the level of co-education low;homes’ and schools’ respective responsibility is undefined and mutual buck-passing.In view of the above problems, the reasons for the participation dilemma of parents of migrant children are as follows:both the schools and parents lack of co-education experience;schools lack awareness of responsibility and short of communication between homes and schools;schools failed to play the dominant advantage of school-based concept and enhance parental education capacity;the disparity of educational ability and unequal status between homes and schools;lack of perfect home-school co-education policy guarantee and organization system;weakening of teachers’ co-educating responsibility and lack of normalized coeducation ability training. After the above analysis, the following solutions are proposed: First,as for the family: parents attach importance to family education to start laying the foundation for home-school co-education;strive to become learning parents to transform the identity for a infant’s parent to a pupil’s parent;change the education idea of emphasizing intelligence and neglecting morality and enrich the content of family education;enhance the awareness of home-school co-education and actively participate in home-school coeducation;clarify the role of their own status and play the main role of home-school coeducation. Then,as for the school: abandon the interest-oriented management concept and enhance the sense of responsibility of home-school co-education;schools play a professional advantage to improve parents’ cultural capital and educating capacity;homes and schools equally co-educate and play the positive role of the Parents Committees;establish a home-school co-education working group and take full advantage of the school-based home-school co-education;enrich the content and form of home-school co-education to enhance the effectiveness of co-education;organize teachers to participate in professional training to improve their awareness of coeducation responsibility and capacity. Finally,as for the social aspect: government coordinates to promote the development of home-school co-education and benefits for the parents;give full play to the role of communities and integrate richer educational and occupation resources respectively for home-school co-education and migrant parents.
