The widespread use of the Internet has stimulated innovation in the delivery of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities.Under the backdrop of"Internet+education," online ideological and political theory courses have rapidly grown and developed.Regardless of the format, the cultivation of college students’ subjectivity remains the foundation and key to the success of these courses. In the virtual space, ideological and political theory courses have transformed the traditional education model of"subject-object dichotomy" by placing importance on respecting the teacher’s position while guaranteeing the realization of the principal value of college students. This has led to the active use of new media and technology to enhance the vitality of education and improve its effectiveness. However, some factors have prevented the full realization of the main value of college students, limiting the potential of network ideological and political theory courses and hindering the attainment of teaching objectives. Therefore, colleges and universities must address the important challenge of strengthening college students’ subjectivity, improving the effectiveness of online ideological and political theory courses, and ensuring the fulfillment of the fundamental task of moral cultivation. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the development of college students’ subjectivity in the course of online ideological and political theory teaching. The theory of college students’ subjectivity is derived from the study of human subjectivity in Marxism, the theory of intersubjectivity in modern Western philosophy, and the thought of subjectivity education in modern pedagogy. Its core content is to stimulate the autonomy, initiative, and creativity of college students and make them become social subjects of autonomy,self-discipline,and self-improvement.Through questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews with college students, this study finds that the popularization and development of online ideological and political theory courses has both positive and negative impacts on the development of college students’ subjectivity. On the one hand,it is conducive to highlighting teachers’subjective ability, affirming the principal position of college students, expanding the space for communication and interaction of education subjects, and bringing new opportunities for the development of college students’ subjectivity. On the other hand, there are also problems such as a lack of autonomy, initiative, creativity, and selectivity among college students. The development of college students’ subjectivity needs to break through certain obstacles. Therefore, this paper suggests that we need to make full use of the teaching conditions created by the network, carefully analyze the new problems and situations it brings to the development of college students’ subjectivity, seize the favorable factors, avoid the negative factors, further strengthen the comprehensive quality of teachers, highlight the main position of college students, optimize the network ideological and political theory course teaching system, and strengthen the construction of the network environment. This paper explores multiple dimensions to enhance the subjectivity of college students in online ideological and political theory courses. This paper has provided an in-depth analysis of the actual manifestation and promotion path of college students’ subjectivity in ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities under the background of the network. It is hoped that this study can serve as a reference for colleges and universities to enhance the effectiveness of online ideological and political theory courses and to realize the fundamental task of cultivating moral and ethical individuals.
