The advent of the information age has placed new demands on talent development, and problem-solving skills have become an important indicator of the overall development of talent.Whether it is the "21st Century Competency Framework" put forward by countries and international organisations or the "Core Qualifications for Secondary School Students’ Development" released by China, all emphasise the involvement of "problem solving",the importance of which is self-evident.Based on the IT classroom in senior secondary school, this study takes problem solving as the orientation and learning scaffolds as the entry point, proposes the design of learning scaffolds for problem solving ability development, and explores the feasibility of learning scaffolds to promote students’ problem solving ability development.Firstly, through reading relevant literature at home and abroad,we define the concepts of problem solving ability and learning scaffolds, sort out the current status of research on problem solving ability and learning scaffolds, collate the relevant theoretical foundations, and clarify the problems and ideas of the study;secondly,we conduct a theoretical analysis of learning scaffolds in problem solving ability cultivation, explore the relationship and value significance of the two,and identify the types of learning scaffolds under the perspective of problem solving Then, based on the principles of learning scaffold design,a design proposal and concrete examples of learning scaffolds for problem-solving skills are presented. Finally, the designed learning scaffolds were applied to teaching practice, three rounds of action research were conducted, and the questionnaire data, classroom observations and interview transcripts were collated and analysed, thus verifying that the learning scaffolds designed in this study could promote students’ problem-solving skills. It was found that the learning scaffolds designed in this study had a positive impact on the development of problem solving skills, and promoted the three dimensions of students’ attitudes, approaches and qualities of problem solving to varying degrees, providing reference and inspiration for the application of learning scaffolds in high school IT classrooms.
