Deep learning is a learning theory that is currently being implemented in China to implement the development of core literacy.Deep learning has gradually become a hot issue in education.Deep learning can better guide students in learning mathematics,assist them to grasp the essence of mathematical knowledge more firmly,form critical mathematical thinking,and develop the habit of thinking and reflecting on their own,so as to enhance students’ mathematical literacy and improve their ability to apply their knowledge to solve problems.The junior secondary stage is an extraordinary time for learning students’ mathematics,and it is an important topic to study the teaching of junior secondary mathematics under the concept of deep learning.(1)On the basis of relevant theories,the characteristics of deep learning in mathematics subjects are analyzed through the collation of literature and combined with the characteristics of mathematics subjects.The study agrees with Liu Yuexia and others about deep learning,which means that deep learning is a learning process in which students are actively involved,fully engaged,and gain healthy development and meaningfulness under the guidance of teachers.Deep learning considers students as the masters of learning,pursues core literacy-oriented teaching and learning goals,goes deeper into knowledge,and achieves fundamental changes in teaching and learning styles.In general,deep learning requires students to be actively involved,fully engaged,to experience the process first-hand,to grasp the essence of knowledge and connections,and to learn to apply it to solve practical problems.(2)A questionnaire was administered to junior secondary students to find out what difficulties they encountered in learning,their attitudes towards these difficulties and how to overcome them.In-depth interviews were then conducted with mathematics teachers to understand some of the measures taken to try to achieve deep learning and the factors that hinder students’ deep learning,and to explore how to solve these problems.(3)Combining the results from the questionnaires and the interviews,explore teaching strategies that can be referred to in teaching functions in junior secondary schools,taking into account the characteristics of deep learning in mathematics and the cognitive potential of junior secondary students.To promote deep learning in function learning among junior secondary school students,four specific teaching strategies are developed in this study under the guidance of teaching principles:①stimulating students’ interest in learning functions;②providing an environment for students’ deep learning;③realizing deep interaction in students’ learning process;④developing students’ higher-order thinking and cultivating core literacy.The above strategies aim to train students to learn to learn.(4)From the content of the textbook,the teaching contents of "Graphs and Properties of Inverse Proportional Functions" and "Primary Functions and Binary Equations" were selected,designed and implemented,and the corresponding design intentions of the teaching design were explained.Finally,interviews with students and teachers were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the design after implementation.
