Research On The Reuse Of National Sliding Centre In Post-Olympic Times

In 2015,Beijing successfully won the right to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games,for China it’s both an opportunity and a challenge.Therefore,the government and the BOCOG have invested a large amount of money and built six large stadiums on the basis of the original six stadiums.The National Sliding Centre is one of the new venues in Yanqing,which is used for the bobsleigh,skeleton and luge events of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.The National Sliding Centre also facing a lot of difficulties in the process of management and operation;however,we don’t have any management and operation experience in such type of venue.This paper uses the methods of literature review,expert interview,on-site review,case analysis and logical analysis to summarize the suitable and possible strategies in order to make the National Sliding Centre operate better in the post-Olympic period.Through the methods of literature review,expert interview,on-site review,then make a comprehensive analysis based on the actual situation of the National Sliding Center,and draw the following conclusions: 1.Although the first volume of the bid report for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing proposed that the venue would be used as a venue heritage after the Games,and providing the venue as place for the training of professional athletes,the holding of large-scale sports events and the activities of ice and snow lovers,it did not provide specific and feasible implementation strategies and suggestions.2.The National Sliding Centre also faces the following difficulties in the actual operation process:(1)the venue location is remote;(2)The sports service items that the venue can provide are too single;(3)The cost of venue maintenance and repair is too high;(4)The number of people who know and like this sport is too small;(5)Venue operations are greatly affected by seasonal changes.3.The operation and management of Olympic Winter venues abroad and the development of this sport in Europe and the United States are relatively mature.Learning from their experience and lessons has reference significance for the operation and management of National Sliding Centre.Based on the analysis of the experience and lessons of other countries’ Winter Olympic venues and sliding venues,and the comprehensive analysis of the actual situation faced by National Sliding Centre,try to put forward the following development strategies for its operation management in post-Olympic period:(1)Realize the cluster development of venues and build international leisure tourism resorts to reduce the problem of small passenger flow caused by the remote location of venues;(2)Diversified development of venue operation content to improve venue utilization rate;(3)Develop the potential intangible assets of venues and improve the economic benefits of venues;(4)Expand the audience group of the venue to lay the foundation for the sustainable development of the venue;(5)Realize the seasonal operation of venues and minimize the impact of climate change on venue operations;(6)The government increased its support policies to help the venues achieve sustainable and healthy development.
