The improvement of students’ fundamental qualities has become the primary responsibility of instructors in China due to the ongoing advancement of educational change.The"Chemistry Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)" plainly explains that our goal is to equip every student with the proper principles,required characteristics,and essential skills to better satisfy the demands of the coming generation.Educators should be committed to improving students’ chemistry learning level and familiarizing students with the basic principles of chemistry,which can not only exercise students’ chemical thinking ability,experimental skills and encourage to take their education seriously and responsibly,but also build a strong base for learning for kids’ future growth.It consequently is crucial to apply experimental instruction that has been designed from the standpoint of core literacy.With the help of a variety of scientific research methods,such as literature research,interviews,questionnaires,case studies and observation methods,this paper deeply explores how to effectively guide and improve the chemistry experiment course of junior high school students from the perspective of core literacy.The present situation of core literacy research at home and abroad is studied by literature research.Through interviews and questionnaires,we understand the teaching status of junior high school chemistry experiment and the development level of students’ core literacy before and after experimental research.Through the case study method,three topics of "Oxygen","carbon dioxide production in laboratory" and"combustion and fire extinguishing" in the ninth grade chemistry textbook were selected as cases to conduct experimental teaching design and practice research from the perspective of core literacy.This paper started the experimental research after the students passed the first monthly examination.The results of the first monthly examination and the current level of chemistry curriculum core literacy were taken as the pre-test.After the experimental study,the final examination results and the level of chemistry curriculum core literacy after the experiment were taken as the post-test.Before and after the study,the degree of students’ chemistry curriculum core literacy was assessed using a questionnaire,and the findings of the experiment were analyzed.It has been discovered that educating junior high school students about chemistry experiments from the standpoint of fundamental literacy can foster their interest in the subject,pique their curiosity,and increase their desire for information about chemistry experiments.exercise their ability of experimental operation,develop their ability of logical thinking and experimental inquiry,which is conducive to improving their chemistry scores and promoting the development of core chemistry literacy.
