objective:To explore the basic characteristics and relationship between physical exercise, social support and learning burnout in upper primary school students, and focus on the mediating role of social support in physical exercise on learning burnout of upper primary school students,so as to develop and select physical exercise intervention programs from the perspective of improving the level of social support, prevent and control learning burnout in upper primary school students, and provide a research basis for the education department to formulate programs to promote the physical and mental health development of primary school students.methods:A total of 1400 upper primary school students in Jiangsu Province were selected by stratified sampling, and the students filled in the online questionnaire through the questionnaire star. Each person is required to complete three questionnaires:"Youth Physical Activity Questionnaire","Children and Adolescents Social Support Rating Scale" and"Primary School Burnout Status Scale".A total of 1276 valid questionnaires were obtained.SPSS 26.0 was used for statistical analysis.Independent sample t-test or one-way ANOVA were used to explore the basic characteristics of physical exercise, social support and learning burnout of upper primary school students and their differences in demographic variables. The mediation effect test method was used to fit the social support mediating model proposed in this study on physical exercise on learning burnout in upper primary school students.Results:(1)Physical exercise, social support and learning burnout of upper primary school students are all at the medium level.(2)Physical exercise of upper primary school students was significantly different in gender(t=3.78,P<0.001)and grade(F=15.54,P<0.001),social support was significantly different in family type(t=2.74,P<0.001),and learning burnout was significantly different in Grade(F=3.95,P<0.05)and family type(t=-3.53,P<0.001).(3)Physical exercise and social support were significantly positively correlated(r=0.257,P<0.001),physical exercise and learning burnout were significantly negatively correlated(r=-0.262,P<0.001),and social support and learning burnout were significantly negatively correlated(r=-0.488,P<0.001).(4)The fitting results of the mediation effect model showed that physical exercise could indirectly affect learning burnout through social support, and the relative effect of the mediating effect accounted for 44.27%.Conclusion:(1)Physical exercise, social support and burnout of upper primary school students are all at the intermediate level.(2)Male physical exercise among primary school students is higher than that of female students.Physical exercise of Grade Four and Five students is higher than that of Grade Six while learning burnout among primary school students of Grade Four and Five is lower than that of Grade Six.To compare with non-singleparent families. The level of social support in single-parent families is lower while learning burnout of that is hgher.(3)Social support plays a partial mediating role between physical exercise and learning burnout, which can not only directly reduce the level of learning burnout in upper primary school students, but also indirectly affect learning burnout through social support.
