STEM education is a comprehensive educational concept originated in the United States,which integrates science,technology,engineering and mathematics.The current era is the era of economic globalization.In order to improve China’s international competitiveness,reserve excellent innovative talents for China,and respond to the national call for the development of students’ core literacy,China’s educational researchers are also actively studying STEM education.At the same time,in order to better carry out STEM education,the American Society for international technology and engineering education put forward 6E teaching mode on the basis of 5E Teaching Mode in order to implement STEM education activities.Therefore,this study applies the 6E teaching mode based on STEM to the "research and practice" column of high school chemistry to observe whether it is conducive to the improvement of students’ STEM literacy,which helps to enrich the localized research in China,provide teachers with a new idea of teaching practice,and provide case reference samples for middle school chemistry.The paper is divided into six parts.The first part explains the background of the topic,summarizes the literature of STEM education,introduces the research content,problems,methods and significance,and then designs the research ideas;The second part introduces the related theoretical basis and defines the related concepts;The third part first expounds the selection of teaching practice content,then explains the 6E teaching mode based on STEM,and finally explores the feasibility of the integration of the 6E teaching mode based on STEM and the "research and practice" column of chemistry in senior high school;The fourth part expounds the teaching principles,and then selects the "research and practice" column in the selective compulsory principle of chemical reaction and the selective compulsory three organic chemistry foundations in the senior high school chemistry textbook of the people’s Education Edition for teaching design,which is designed from the two aspects of STEM teaching element analysis and teaching process;The fifth part completes four teaching practices in the selective compulsory chemical reaction principle module.After the teaching practice,let the students complete the student STEM questionnaire survey and student STEM interview survey,collect and analyze the relevant data,and test whether the application of 6E teaching mode based on STEM in senior high school chemistry teaching can improve STEM literacy;The sixth part is the summary and Prospect of the research.The conclusion of this study is that the overall STEM literacy and all dimensional data of students in the experimental class show an upward trend,and there are significant differences between the first and fourth data of the experimental class.Based on this study,two teaching suggestions are put forward: pay attention to students’ hands-on practice and balance the relationship between individual and group cooperation.
