Executive function and sensory integration are the two most critical indicators of children’s growth and development.Executive function is the ability of the body to actively control the way it thinks and acts.Sensory integration is the process of learning and the coordinated development of the brain and body, both of which are closely related to the brain and body functions of students. In this study, two traditional folk sports, skipping and jumping rope, were selected for 12 weeks to analyze the effects of different intervention times on the executive and sensory integration functions of third grade girls in elementary school, with the aim of coming up with the most effective sports and the most appropriate exercise times for third grade girls. Objective: To investigate the effects of two traditional sports, jumping jacks and jumping rope,on executive function and sensory integration of 3rd grade girls in elementary school;and the differences in the effects of two traditional sports, jumping jacks and jumping rope,on executive function and sensory integration.Subjects and methods: 90 elementary school girls in grade 3 were selected and equally assigned into 3 groups, the control group, the skipping group and the skipping rope group, and the exercise intervention was conducted for 12 weeks. The timing of the test was chosen before,6 weeks and after the experiment for each of the 3 groups. For the executive function measures, the Stroop task was used for the inhibition function test, the 1—back task was chosen for the refresh function test, the More-odd shifting task was used for the transition function test, and the Sensory Integration Function was tested using the Rating Scale for the Development of Sensory Integration Skills in Children. At the end of the experiment, the differences between the data of the groups before and after the experiment were compared, and the effects of different sports programs on the executive functions and sensory integration of 3rd grade girls in elementary school were analyzed. Results: For executive functions: there were no significant differences in the inhibition, refreshment and conversion functions in the control group with the traditional PE class mode as the main mode.(1)For inhibition function: between-group analysis of correct rates in 3tests in 6 and 12 weeks jumping band group and jump rope group and control group were significantly different between the 3 groups, the results of the test at reaction time indicate that after the experiment jumping band group and control group, the difference was significant, and jump rope group and control group also differed significantly.Within-group analysis in the jumping band group consistent correct rate 6 weeks performance reached the best and continued until 12 weeks, inconsistent correct rate the longer the effect;reaction time from the beginning of the test until 12 weeks there is a significant effect, jump rope group consistent correct rate 6th week reached the best continued until 12 weeks, inconsistent correct rate the longer the effect;and reaction time 3 times there is no significant difference.(2)refresh function: intergroup analysis of the correct rate in 3 tests in 6 weeks and 12 weeks jumping band group and jump rope group and control group 3 groups are significantly different from each other, the longer the jumping band group the better the effect, while the jump rope group 6 weeks when the best results lasted until 12 weeks;and reaction time 3 tests in 6 weeks and 12 weeks jumping band group and jump rope group are significantly different from the control group, but the jumping band and jump rope group 2 groups are not significantly different from each other..In the intra-group analysis, the best response time was reached at 6 weeks in the jumping band group and lasted until 12 weeks, while the longer the jumping rope group, the better the effect.(3)Conversion function: In the between-group analysis, there was a significant difference between the jumping band and rope groups and the control group at 6 weeks and 12 weeks in the 3 correctness tests, but there was no significant difference between the jumping band and rope groups;there was no significant difference between the 3 groups at 3 times in the response time.In the within-group analysis the jumping rope group reached the best correct rate of size at 6 weeks and continued until 12 weeks, and in both parity and mixed correct rates, the jumping rope group had an increasing correct rate from the first test until 12 weeks. The jump rope group had the highest correct rates for the size,odd-even,and mixed tasks at 6 weeks and maintained them through 12 weeks.Between-group comparisons in sensory integration showed significant differences between the control and skipping groups and the jump rope group at both 6 and 12 weeks, and also between the skipping group and the jump rope group at 6 and 12 weeks.Within-group comparisons(1)In vestibular balance: both the jumping band group and the jump rope group had greater post-experimental scores than 6-week scores than pre-experimental scores.(2)In proprioception: the longer the jumping band group, the better the effect, while the jumping rope group achieved the best performance at 6 weeks and lasted until 12 weeks.(3)In tactile defense: both the jumping band group and the jump rope group had greater post-experimental scores than pre-experimental scores at 6 weeks.(4)In learning ability: both the jumping band group and the jumping rope group had greater post-experimental scores than 6-week scores than pre-experimental scores, with the jumping rope group improving better than the jumping band group.Conclusion:(1)By 12 weeks of jumping jacks and jumping rope exercise can improve the executive functions of third grade girls, the jumping rope group has better effect than the jumping jacks group in inhibiting the inconsistent correctness of function and refreshing the response of function, and the jumping jacks group has better effect than the jumping rope group in improving the rest of functions.(2)Through 12 weeks of skipping and jumping rope exercise can significantly improve the sensory integration ability of third grade girls, among which the effect of jumping rope group is better than the skipping group in the improvement ability of learning ability, and the effect of improvement of the rest functions is better in the skipping group than the skipping rope group.
