With the aggravation of the aging degree in China, the life expectancy of the elderly continues to extend, the number of retired elderly people increases, and the educational level of retired workers is also improving.More and more order-workers choose to return to the labor market after retirement. In the context,it is necessary to further discuss the issues related to the re-employment of the elderly after retirement. The reemployment after retirement depends on the individual characteristics and subjective will of them.It is very important to study the re-employment of retired workers for formulating more reasonable retirement policies and systems.Based on theoretical analysis, statistical analysis and descriptive analysis, using panel binary Logit regression model, this paper empirically analyzed the relationship between education level and reemployment of retired workers by using the data of 2013,2015 and 2018 from the National baseline questionnaire survey of China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS).The relevant variables of individual characteristics, nature of work, family situation and income status of workers were added as control variables, and the robustness test of the baseline regression was carried out.Meanwhile, the heterogeneity analysis of different samples of classification was carried out,and the formation mechanism of the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables was analyzed by means of variance analysis. To verify the special effect of the explanatory variables of education return years and average monthly income level before retirement, and to study the influence of these two variables on the relationship between education level and re-employment choice by analyzing the interaction effect and the mediation effect. The following conclusions are drawn: 1.The reemployment scale of retired workers in China expands and the employment rate increases. The reemployment rate of men is higher than that of women. The reemployment rate of workers over the age of 74 is significantly lower than that of workers under the age of 74.The reemployment rate of those with lower monthly income before retirement is higher.2.There is a u-shaped relationship between the educational level of retired workers and the choice of re-employment in China, that is,low-educated workers and highly educated workers are more willing to re-employment,and this relationship exists for different types of retired workers.3.Retired workers with different educational backgrounds choose re-employment for different reasons.Retired groups with lower education level have lower income level before retirement and longer working life. And the retired group with higher education level, their income level is generally higher,re-employment is to prolong the return of education years.4.Both the return years of education and the average monthly income level before retirement indirectly or directly promote the impact of education level on the re-employment of retired workers, but the moderating effect of return years of education as a mediating variable has a greater impact on the selection of re-employment after retirement than the moderating effect.Based on this, this paper thinks that different measures should be taken to protect the choice of reemployment for retired workers with different educational backgrounds.
