The era of Industry 4.0 has come and gone,and the development and application of artificial intelligence as a revolutionary technology is having an increasingly profound impact on China’s economy and society.As artificial intelligence continues to move forward and develop for the better,its impact on employment has aroused widespread concern from all walks of life.Unlike the "machine for people" caused by the previous industrial revolution,artificial intelligence in its development process will not only replace simple and repetitive jobs,but also bring about a certain impact on jobs that are more regular and depend on On the whole,in the era of AI,the requirements for the comprehensive quality of labor force are getting higher and higher.Therefore,while we pay attention to the impact of AI on total employment,we should also pay attention to its impact on employment structure.First of all,this paper takes the theory of the impact of technological progress on employment as the basis,and on this basis,the literature on the impact of AI on employment quantity and employment structure at home and abroad is organized and summarized.The impact on China’s employment structure can be divided into industrial structure and skill structure,and the existing research mainly focuses on whether technological progress such as AI shows "skill-biased" characteristics in the development process and whether it leads to "employment polarization".This is also the main content of this paper.Secondly,this paper compares the current situation of AI development and the current situation of labor force employment skill structure in China from multiple perspectives.The employment skill structure shows the trend of "upgrading",but no "polarization" phenomenon is found for the time being,and the proportion of labor force with different skill levels in each region of China varies greatly.Finally,the empirical analysis of provincial panel data from 2005 to 2019 is conducted to further verify the impact of AI development level on the employment share of labor force with different skill levels in China.The phenomenon of "polarization" is not found yet.Based on the results of the empirical analysis,this paper puts forward reasonable opinions and suggestions from the perspectives of the government,enterprises and individuals respectively,in order to accurately grasp the dynamic impact of the development of AI on the employment skill structure of labor force in China,to bring into play the positive impact of AI on labor force employment and gradually expand the employment space of labor force in China. |
