As China’s educated population is relatively large and the pressure for higher education is high,the education and training industry has been favorable.The outbreak of the COVID-19 has led capital to focus on the online education market.In July 2021,the "double-reduction" policy was released,imposing strict requirements on primary and secondary school subject training institutions,including a strict ban on capitalization,strict regulation and approval,and strict control of class start times.Guangzhou A education and training institution is a part of a listed company,which has been providing subject-based education and training as its main business for many years and is currently required by the policy to stop providing subject-based education and training for primary and secondary schools as soon as possible.Based on the above background,the strategic transition of A institution is studied.Firstly,the theoretical foundation,research ideas,and framework are established through extensive literature reading.Secondly,the external environment of A institution is analyzed using tools such as PEST analysis and Porter’s Five Forces Model,and the internal environment of A institution were sorted out from the perspectives of current strategies,resources,and capabilities.Thirdly,the necessity and feasibility of the strategic transition of A institution is analyzed,and the strategic transition choices are made through SWOT analysis.Finally,specific strategy implementation measures and strategic safeguard measures are proposed for A institution.Through the above analysis,the following research conclusions are drawn.Guangzhou A education and training institution should improve its ability to perceive changes in the external environment,vigorously leverage the good reputation and brand advantages accumulated during its years of operation,increase the market share of its existing quality education and training products,and develop new products and enrich the types of products at the right time,to reduce operational risks.Specific strategic transition measures include adjusting the business layout,promoting product standardization,implementing OMO(Online-Merge-Offline)and refining operations,promoting the 2G/S(To Government or School)business model,adjusting the organizational structure based on business streams,and steadily developing new business in research and learning.During the transition period,Guangzhou A education and training institution should provide guarantees for the strategic transition in four aspects: human resources security,financial support,corporate culture reconstruction,and brand rebranding.
