In the 21 st century,more and more attention has been paid to the inner construction of university in China.As an indispensable part of national education,private colleges and universities play an increasingly important role in the continuous improvement of the national education system.Counselors shoulder the important task of doing a good job in students’ ideological and political education and other basic student tasks.They have a great significance in promoting private colleges and universities to implement the Party’s education policy.Therefore,we must attach great importance to the construction of counselors in private colleges and universities.Based on the analysis of the background characteristics and academic significance of the new era,this paper summarizes the views of experts on the construction of counselors in private colleges and universities,and then looks for the entry point for the research of this paper.Taking a private university in Jiangxi Province as the research object,this paper deeply explores the actual situation of the current construction of counselors in private universities in China by means of questionnaire survey,case study,documentary method and other research methods,and finds the problems faced in the actual operation,which are as follows: first,the specialization level of the team is low;Second,the team structure is lack of rationality;Third,the personnel flow of the team is large;Fourth,a mature reward and punishment mechanism has not been established.The problems origin from the private university system,insufficient policy support,imperfect incentive system and non-standard professional team.In my opinion,the above problems can be solved from the following points: first,college-running thoughts should be changed and the construction of counselors should be focused on,such as the investment,improveent of leadership and the revisison of construction objectives of counselors;Secondly,the policy mechanism related to the team of college counselors should be enchanced;Thirdly,scientific career planning for counselors should be formulated,mainly from the four aspects of assessment system,salary system,promotion system and training system;Finally,the incentive mechanism of reward and punishment for counselors should be perfected,mainly from strengthening counselors’ career planning,counselors’ scientific research ability and counselors’ professional identity.In accordance with Maslow’s hierarchical demand theory and incentive theory,this paper deeply explores many problems faced in the construction procedures of counselors in private colleges and universities,finds out the specific causes of the problems,and gives targeted opinions and suggestions,so as to contribute to the quality of counselors,the professional ability and comprehensive quality of counselors,and the sustainable development of private colleges and universities as well,all of which aim to give suggestions for promoting the orderly development of private colleges and universities,and the sustainable development of private colleges and universities for contributing more to China’s education.
