| Establishing a reasonable curriculum education system for career planning and assisting students in setting up realistic career development ideas as well as implementing appropriate career values is an effective way for universities to respond to the employment stress that graduates face upon graduation and the employment issues that graduates encounter in the workplace.The State Council,in 2019,issued the Plan for the Reform and Implementation of National Vocational Education,implementing a pilot program of undergraduate-level vocational education and propelling the development of undergraduate-level vocational education are the internal requirements for adapting to industrial upgrading and transformation,improving the modern vocational education system,and setting up the higher vocational education people satisfied with.As of October 2020,22 vocational colleges in China have implemented undergraduate level vocational education pilots.With respect to their own circumstances and inexperience in operating undergraduate-level vocational education,pilot vocational colleges,especially the upgraded private vocational university are still in the exploratory stage of crossing the river by feeling for stones for implementing undergraduate level vocational education,and several troubles are still existing in running.Specifically,private vocational university’s career preparation education is flawed.For example,unconspicuous characteristics of career planning education,contents lacking pertinence,insufficient instruction abilities from teachers,lacking consultation and platform of career planning,inadequate investment,poor actual effect of career planning education and lacked personalized service,such issues would impact the effective employment of the undergrads in the vocational pilot colleges.Consequently,it is of significant theoretical and functional importance to expand the study on the undergraduate’s career preparation education curriculum system.To date,there are several studies on the career preparation education for college students in regular and vocational colleges,but few on undergraduates in private vocational ones.This thesis uses N Vocational University,one of the first 15 undergraduate vocational education pilot colleges in China as the test object via questionnaires,literature reviews,interviews,etc.,while on basis of the results for career preparation education in regular colleges,to start a case study on the problem of the career planning education system for undergraduates in private vocational university.Based on the study and investigation,this paper sets forward the key problems presented in the undergraduate career preparation education of N Vocational University,and explores the triggers of those problems extensively,constructs a career planning education curriculum system for private vocational university undergraduates,and advances some measures for implementing the system.This study consists primarily in the following five areas:The introduction is the first element,which mostly represents the research background,research significance,the state of art for domestic and foreign research,the design and methods in research and so on.Through this stage of study,the research concepts are defined,as well as the research context and the research orientation.The second portion is a comprehensive description of similar definitions and theoretical basis.To begin with,this paper establishes four key definitions,private vocational college,undergraduates of vocational colleges,career planning education,and career planning education for private vocational college undergraduates.In addition,it goes into deeper detail on the theoretical basis of this study,including Charles Algernon Parsons’ s theory of trait factors,Sarpa’s theory of career growth,and Shi En’s theory of career anchor.The third part is the problems and reasons of the vocational university undergraduate’s career planning education.Firstly,430 N vocational university undergraduates were randomly allocated to an anonymous questionnaire regarding career preparation education and meanwhile,we interviewed several undergraduate students and teachers from N Vocational University.Secondly,it puts forward the problems of the vocational university undergraduate’s career planning education in the aspects of goal orientation,course system,course content,methods,foundation for quality of teacher,connection with enterprises and course evaluation.Finally,the causes of the above problems are discussed.The fourth segment of the program is the design of the curriculum for career planning education for vocational university undergraduates.Firstly,from the viewpoint of community,colleges and students,this paper discusses the value of developing a vocational university undergraduate’s career planning education program.Secondly,it discusses the characteristics of whole operation,overall,vocational and practicability,offered by the vocational college undergraduates’ career planning education framework.Finally,this paper discusses the content of the curriculum system of vocational university undergraduate’s career planning education.The fifth part is the guarantee mechanism of the implementation of the vocational university undergraduate career planning education.To improve the quality of career planning education for private vocational college undergraduates and ensure the smooth implementation of the curriculum system of career planning for them,we must provide guarantee in six aspects: educational institution,teaching team,educational fund,network educational platform and vocational evaluation system. |
