The key to building a high-quality education system lies in teachers,who are fundamental and key to improving the quality of education and ensuring that the people are satisfied with it.Primary school teachers in China,as the main force in the stage of basic education,still face practical difficulties such as huge workload,long working hours and tedious non-teaching work under the background of education burden reduction,which leads to obvious lack of professional happiness.Therefore,it is urgent to pay attention to and solve the problem of teachers’ workload.The author takes urban primary school teachers in Dongchangfu District of Liaocheng City as the research object,on the basis of the relevant literature and field investigation,systematic analysis of data,find out the problem representation elementary school teachers’ workload,the reason analysis and put forward feasible improvement countermeasures,so as to help improve primary school teachers’ workload,let teachers return to teaching itself,and effectively enhance their professional happiness.By using the methods of questionnaire,interview and field observation,this paper investigates the current situation of various work time,teaching work content and non teaching work content of urban primary school teachers in Dongchangfu District,Liaocheng City,and explores the overall cognition and ideal expectation of primary school teachers on their workload.The survey results show that the average daily working hours of primary school teachers are generally long,with 52% of them working 8-10 hours a day and 18% of them working 10-12 hours a day;The hidden workload of preparing lessons,correcting homework,writing lesson plans,listening to and evaluating lessons,and participating in teaching and research activities is large;Filling in forms,sorting out files,Party construction and learning and other non teaching tasks are heavy,nearly 94% of primary school teachers hope to reduce non-teaching workload;As a high emotional working group,teachers have high emotional labor;And teachers’ work shows a trend of popularization and de specialization.The causes of the problems mainly focus on four aspects: society,school,parents and teachers.They are the administrative intervention of government departments,the sanctification of teachers’ profession by all sectors of society and the unclear boundary of teachers’ work;The school is faced with formalization of inspection,triviality of task arrangement and mechanization of management concept;The transfer of parents’ educational responsibility,the lack of active home-school communication and the transfer of educational anxiety to primary school teachers;Teachers lack time management ability,emotion regulation ability and role overload.Therefore,in order to scientifically regulate the workload of primary school teachers,it needs the joint efforts and coordination of various subjects.First of all,we should reduce the administrative intervention of the government,change the inherent cognition of teachers from all walks of life and call for accelerating the construction of legal standards for teachers’ workload.Secondly,schools should reduce the arrangement of non teaching tasks,reasonably allocate teachers’ working hours through the establishment of flexible commuting system,and humanize the management concept.Thirdly,parents should assume the responsibility of family education,actively communicate with their parents and eliminate their own educational anxiety.Finally,teachers should establish the concept of moderate work,improve time management ability and emotion regulation ability.
