In contemporary society,the high divorce rate in rural areas has directly led to the continuous growth of the number of rural single-parent families.The interpersonal obstacles of adolescents in rural single-parent families have attracted more and more attention.The purpose of the study is to investigate how social work might intervene in the interpersonal obstacles of adolescents which are caused by living in rural single-parent families.Taking the adolescents from rural single-parent families in X Town middle school,DE Zhou City,Shandong Province as the research object,the study provided an in-depth understanding of the current situation of interpersonal communication of this group by using the methods of questionnaire and interview,and summarized that the research objects generally had three major obstacles: serious social avoidance,obvious heterosexual exclusion and excessive self-centered.According to the cognitive behavior theory,the above interpersonal problems were mainly caused by the cognitive bias of rural single-parent families adolescents.Therefore,targeted cognitive intervention was carried out for those research objects.Combined with the above research results,8 service objects were finally established to form a “making friends”group.The social work intervention was based on cognitive behavior theory and strength perspective theory.Social workers helped clients enhance interpersonal interaction among peers through group work,guided group members to establish correct self-cognition,at the same time guided them to use and integrate fully their various advantageous resources and abilities,encouraged them to learn constantly interpersonal skills and establish good interpersonal relationships with others,and finally improved the interpersonal obstacles of adolescents from rural single-parent families.After the social work intervention,the group members’ satisfaction information on group activities and results was collected.The group members were post-tested for interpersonal problems by Inventory of Interpersonal Problems 32 and Interpersonal Disturbances Scale.The result shows that this study to improve interpersonal obstacles of adolescents from rural single-parent families through group activity intervention has achieved certain results.
