From the perspective of humanistic learning theory and Tao Xingzhi’s life education theory,young people are at an important moment when Chinese reading is important.In the context of exam-oriented education,many secondary school students do not read with high spirituality,narrow reading purposes,and even simpler mechanical reading methods.Learning reading methods and developing reading ability become especially important in middle school reading teaching.The current situation of teaching traditional ancient reading methods in junior high school was investigated and analyzed from the perspective of junior high school ancient reading teaching.summarizing the existing experience,identifying the remaining problems,and further reflecting on the development of the "traditional ancient reading method".The article is divided into five parts.Part Ⅰ(Introduction and Chapter 1): Introduction and core concepts and theoretical foundations.The introduction presents the background significance of the study,as well as a literature review of the meaning of traditional ancient reading,ancient reading method and the way ancient reading unfolds,and also points out the research ideas,methods,innovations and shortcomings;the core concepts and theoretical foundations clarify the core concepts of ancient reading,reading,and traditional ancient reading method,and discuss the theoretical basis of this paper from reading psychology,Tao’s theory of life,and archaeology of knowledge.Part Ⅱ(Chapter 2): A review of the background of traditional ancient literature reading teaching.From the replacement of traditional Chinese culture education by modern Western subject education in modern times to the emphasis on traditional culture in the current new era,it is pointed out that there is a tendency for ancient literature education to depart from both righteousness and nurturing values and the background that traditional ancient literature reading method is strongly advocated by experts and scholars and enthusiastically promoted by the society and folk.Part Ⅲ(Chapters 3 and 4): An investigation of the value of the traditional ancient reading method in middle school language teaching and its use.Through extensive literature research and analysis of the Ministry of Education’s junior high school language teaching materials and from the two major directions of traditional ancient literature reading methods of grasping the meaning and the methods of nurturing the body and mind,the characteristics,requirements and nurturing values of the reading methods of specializing in reading,skimming,chanting and reciting,life-style reading,study-style reading,and cultivating the body are sorted out in detail.We will explore the integration of the traditional ancient reading method and the modern ancient reading method.Part Ⅳ(Chapter 5): Research and reflection on the effectiveness of traditional ancient reading methods.A case study centered on Wuxi,Jiangsu Province,was conducted to examine in depth the implementation practices of the return of traditional ancient literature reading.The teachers and students of a middle school in Wuxi were selected for interviews and questionnaire surveys,and the teaching status of the traditional ancient literature reading method was analyzed from four dimensions: teaching status,use attitude,use process,and use effect.It was found that there were problems such as weak awareness among teachers and students,low cultural literacy,single learning path,and insignificant reading ability improvement,etc.The research and survey were combined to summarize and reflect on the teaching of the traditional ancient literature reading method The problems.Part Ⅴ(Chapter 6): The return of the traditional ancient reading method and the transformation of the use.The traditional ancient literature reading should be grasped rationally,both to affirm its role in ancient literature reading teaching,but also to find its discomfort in today’s society,to clarify its own limitations.Conduct typical teaching case studies to combine the theory and practice of research.Finally,shortcomings and outlook are presented.In conclusion,this paper hopes that the data and conclusions obtained through the survey will provide some references for secondary school language teachers to teach ancient texts and promote students to learn traditional ancient texts more effectively and enhance their core language literacy and personality cultivation.
