In the 1980 s,the theory of reception aesthetics was introduced from the West.After more than 40 years of assimilation,it has gradually evolved from an imported concept to a literary theory with Chinese characteristics,and has been applied to the Chinese teaching reform practice in modern times.Under the theory of reception aesthetics,this paper presents a comparative study of teaching examples of "Blessings" by three teachers,Li Zhenxi,Zhang Chunyu and Ding Jiansheng,hoping to provide useful suggestions for the teaching of novel reading in high school.In the course of the comparative study,the author finds that the "reader-centered" reception aesthetics theory has a positive impact on the teaching of Chinese novel reading in high school.The new curriculum reform highlights the dominant position of students and requires teachers to act as the "organizers and guides" of teaching activities.This coincides with the "reader-centered" concept of reception aesthetics.At the same time,in the process of applying the theory,some researchers have overemphasized the role of readers in reading activities,relatively ignored the role of literary works and authors,and over-interpreted the texts for the sake of novelties and differences.This problem needs to be addressed and solved by educators and researchers.This paper focuses on the level of high school students’ literary acceptance,takes the teaching of "Blessings" as the starting point and deeply studies the application strategies of reception aesthetics theory in the teaching practice of Chinese novel reading in high school.The introduction part explains the reasons for the topic selection as well as the current research status of reception aesthetic and the teaching examples of "Blessings".The first chapter elaborates on the literary interpretation of "Blessings" in terms of its thematic ideas,character images and artistic characteristics,and sorted out the teaching and interpretation of "Blessings" in three stages from political interpretation period,instrumental reading period,and diversified reading period.In the second chapter,the comparative study of the teaching examples of "Blessings" under the theory of reception aesthetics of is presented,carefully selecting the cases of three teachers,Li Zhenxi,Zhang Chunyu and Ding Jiansheng,and the differences among these cases are compared in terms of teaching objectives,teaching contents and teaching processes.The final chapter draws some insights on the teaching of novel reading in high school,mainly in terms of widening the horizons of expectation,using a summoned structure,cultivating the ideal readers and avoiding over-reading.The theory of reception aesthetics still has shortcomings,but with the joint efforts of scholars and high school Chinese teachers,it will be gradually improved and progressed in the process of novel reading teaching.
