| Disciplinary broad concepts are special concepts that reflect the basic content and teaching tasks of a discipline,and the essence of the discipline,which can link the core concepts of the discipline to related content.This paper argues that holistic teaching of units based on disciplinary broad concepts is an important initiative to implement the core literacy of chemistry.Focusing on classroom diagnosis and classroom implementation,this study adopts classroom observation scales to observe sample lesson examples of high school chemistry modules on elements and their compounds.The study conducts a review lesson unit based on disciplinary broad concepts from a classroom practice perspective to better achieve the implementation of disciplinary core literacy for students in review lessons.This study utilizes literature,action research,and Delphi methods to conduct an empirical study of the corresponding content of the module on metals and their compounds in the first book of the 2019 New Humanities Edition Compulsory Study as an instance.First,the background and current status of research on the broad concepts and subject broad concepts were sorted out by reviewing the literature.The main purpose and content of this study were determined on this basis.Second,research tools such as classroom observation scales and teacher interview outlines were constructed to understand the current situation of teaching the elements and their compounds module review class from the perspective of subject broad concepts and to analyze the reasons.Based on the research,the design of teaching the subject broad concept review class module was conducted,and the teaching practice and effect analysis were carried out in a middle school in Fuyang,Anhui Province.Finally,strategies for improving the teaching efficiency of high school chemistry review classes were suggested.The study indicates that teachers have a better foundation in teaching based on subject broad concepts.And the practical study proved that teaching based on subject broad concepts can promote students’ deep understanding of chemistry and achieve the improvement of core literacy in chemistry.In response to the problems in the survey and practice,this paper proposes corresponding teaching strategies:(1)deep understanding of chemistry subject curriculum standards and finding the logical line of teaching;(2)holistic design of unit teaching objectives and systematic planning of large unit teaching in the subject;(3)relying on large contexts to carry chemistry subject broad concepts. |
